Really loud roaring noise the other night?

Okay this is a bit strange....

The other night (Wednesday) I heard this really loud roaring noise that sounded like an airplane only way louder. It also made this deep humming noise. At the time I was thinking, Gee.. either that airplane is flying really low or it's about to crash! Totally freaked me out, lol! It lasted about a minute or so and then it suddenly stopped. No slowly fading away like airplanes normally do. I heard this same sound during the hurricane we had several weeks ago. My daughter and I both heard it. The very same sound...like an airplane flying really low or crashing. We were thinking maybe it was a tornado but since we've never experienced a tornado before we didn't know what one sounded like. That was such a crazy night anyway so it wouldn't surprise me if it had been a tornado. We certainly had enough damage for one.

But the other night wasn't stormy.

Anyway, I had completely forgotten all about it until someone bought it up on another board about hearing the same sound on Wednesday night around the same time I did and then other people claimed to have heard it as well.


Anyone on here experience this the other night?

I actually have heard that sound as well, (but not Wednesday)....I have heard a "roaring, growling" sound like a plane, but not - it was REALLY strange. We live near an airport so I thought it may have been a low flying plane but I didn't see anything -

Last night, however my entire family heard a HUGE LOUD crackling sound - it was during a time of thunder and lightening....but it had been quiet for awhile when BOOOOOOM!!! I had been lying in bed listening intently (because I really do love electrical storms) when it hit....sounded too sharp and lasted too long to be thunder....the local news station asked on their FB status today who in the area had heard it - I was shocked to read that many, many people heard it from a very large area (spanning 4 counties!) Everyone agreed that there was no way it could have been thunder....the general consensus was that it was probably that falling satellite entering the Earth's atmosphere. The news later reported that it must have been "ball lightening"..... Maybe so - but it was very bizarre and there have been other unexplained sounds as well around here.

Does anyone have any ideas what we are hearing?

Yes! A few months ago I was playing with the computer around 2-3 a.m. and I heard a sound like a jet engine, only there was no Doppler effect - it started suddenly and maintained the same, exact pitch for a couple of minutes, then just as suddenly it stopped. I never did find out what it was, although a number of people from all around the country were reporting hearing it on ATS.

I was just looking at one of the "out there" forums...

Someone said (s)he was just getting into a "prayer realm" when (s)he heard a roar and asked if other could offer suggestions as to what it could be. Some of the suggestions are:

In my prayertime last night I heard the words "The Lord is roaring" I dismissed it abit but it stayed in the back of my head. Could it be for Israel? "The Lord will roar from Zion and thunder from Jerusalem; the earth and the sky will tremble. But the Lord will be a refuge for his people, a stronghold for the people of Israel." Joel 3:16 Sounds like confirmation!

(NOTE: Everything is a "confirmation" to them....)

That very well could be a confirmation! I never thought about the roar reference before in the bible!!! Maybe the Lord is roaring from Zion in heaven!! Joel 3:16 reminds me of John 3:16-For God So loved the World!! JoeL Backwards is Leo-J(Jesus)! Like in the Leo constellation of the Lion!!

But i just heard what sounded like that mystery roar:

i got back from lunch, turned on my computer, while windows just came on..i heard that roar sound...it did sound like a lion's roar. (just one roar/growl) that everyone on this thread is talking about!..it wasent really super loud, but was definately noticeable, sounded like a mini version of the same lion's roar or growl you hear at the beginning of a mgm movie! amazing--could hardly believe my ears, nobody else heard it, not the person next to me, (im at a coffee shop) if she did, she said nothing !

Last night as I was dozing off to sleep but still not quite there, I had a dream or vision, not quite sure. (The people there have dreams and visions all the time....) I was lifted up and transformed in the rapture and as I moved above the face of the earth the spirit of the Lord suddenly filled me with great zeal and I stopped and observed the earth beneath me. I felt His power moving through me and an anger, born out of love for His creation ,against the destroyers of the earth. I opened my mouth and a powerful roar like that of a lion came out and I could tell that it could be heard for many miles if not over the entire earth. end of dream/vision. Reading all your posts here put it in a whole new perspective for me. Like WOW.

Hmmm?? Are we Christians hearing our Lord...The Lion of Judah...calling out His warning sounds?? Could this be some type of "7-Day Warning" to the Bride??

(Where they get the idea of a "7 day warning" - or a 21 day warning, or 30 day warning....I don't know, but they have all kinds of "warnings"....)

I have not heard the roaring, but I keep feeling the earth shaking a little under my feet. It has been going on for about 3 days now, and we are not having any reported earthquakes. I've been wondering if it is a prophetic warning of some kind. He has not told me that it is, however. I believe that the Lord is likely roaring. Maybe He is roaring so loudly that He is causing the earth to shake.

(Again with the "warning"...)

Awesome! Just awesome! So many sounds being reported. Your roars, trumpets that me and others are hearing (plus my blind friend who got her sight back the next morning), plus groans people are hearing and video taping. Oh, and the "Hum" that I keep hearing about. Wow.

MAYBE SOME OF US ARE HEARING THE ROAR AND SOME OF US ARE "FEELING" THE ROAR...

Yes, that's exactly it, AIW... a roaring, growling sound. I live close to a Naval/Airforce base so I'm used to hearing all kinds of fighter jets and airplanes flying by but this was different. This sounded really close to the ground and it ended very suddenly.

I've read on various boards how other people are hearing these sounds as well...I haven't experienced the boom one yet. Do you think they were sonic booms? I remember as a kid I used to hear them a lot whenever my family and I would vacation in the Outer Banks of North Carolina...jets were constantly flying over the ocean breaking the sound barrier and we would hear a loud BOOM!

I read those same threads, POH... those people are majorly silly.... ;D

If you live near a military base, then maybe it's from underground tunnel drilling....

This sound came from the sky so I don't think it was underground drilling. Although I do believe that might be what other people are hearing elsewhere.

hmmmm.......during Hurricane Irene, I heard an airplane flying very very low over my house and I thought it was going to crash.....so much so that I actually ducked!!! then nothing. I thought it was really strange that someone would be flying aircraft in THAT storm (worst one I ever saw)...I know what I heard. I asked my neighbor about it and she said that she had heard it too....very very strange, no reports of plane crashes anywehre.
