The Lord saved me from being raped and/or killed!

I was taking a shortcut to a large local park as I often do with my two dogs - it saves a few miles driving and it's a nice walk through a quiet, forested area.
Yesterday we were walking along towards the park and I was enjoying the silence - I didn't hear a thing, until my two girls started getting crazy growling and barking at something behind me - they have NEVER done that before; usually they're very friendly and go up to people to be petted. I turned and there were two men, probably in their 30s (and probably illegals), maybe two feet away from me - they had obviously kept as quiet as they could so I wouldn't hear them, and hadn't even talked to each other. When I looked at them one "innocently" asked, "Are your dogs friendly?" I grasped their leashes about a foot away from their collars as if to hold them back and replied, "No, they're not at all - so you'd better not come any closer!" (Easy to believe, the way they were carrying on!) At that the two ran off.
Thankfully the Lord was watching over me, and my girls alerted me to danger, but now I'm afraid to use that path anymore as I could have easily been dragged off into the forest...and I have to get in the habit of keeping my pepper spray and/or taser with me when I'm out walking them! Sure, there's a long-shot that those two men didn't have something nefarious in mind, but there was NO reason for them to come right up directly behind me like that on a wide path (I wasn't carrying a purse or anything) and the dogs sure did sense that something was "off" with them.
I had related my walking story on the local Neighborhood Watch FB page as a warning to other women, and one guy who teaches rape prevention classes told me I had gotten to the third stage of a potential attack: interview, which follows intent and positioning. He said the guys were probably trying to get me to drop my guard by talking about the dogs, and ran off when I told them the dogs would attack them. This world is getting darker and darker, and it angers me that I have to give up one of my favorite walking spots because of trash like them; I can't wait until we're in the Kingdom and won't have to be afraid of anyone or anything! (And - unless those men repent..... )
