www.cnn.com/2011/11/11/us/washington-gunshots/Gunshots reported a few blocks from White House Washington (CNN) -- Shots were reported fired Friday night between the White House and the Washington Monument, setting off a flurry of law enforcement activity, a U.S. Park Police spokesman said. The incident was reported shortly after 9 p.m., according to Sgt. David Schlosser, spokesman for the Park Police. Responding officers found an abandoned vehicle in the vicinity of the reported incident and were searching it "trying to figure out what happened." Schlosser noted that "no evidence" has been recovered to indicate shots were actually fired. "I think, obviously, the thing that makes it of interest is simply the location, you know, a bit like real estate," Schlosser told reporters. "The fact that this occurred outside the White House area. At this point, we don't think that there's any link to the White House." A Secret Service official who asked not to be identified reported that gunshots rang out as two cars sped on the National Mall. Agents stationed on 16th Street heard the shots, then saw the cars heading west on Constitution Avenue, the official said. At least one witness saw that someone had "jumped out of the vehicle and ran," but no one was captured, the official said. An AK-47-style rifle was recovered in or near the abandoned vehicle, the official said. In a brief appearance before reporters, Schlosser said he was not aware of any gun having been found.

What a Doofus!!! *FACEPALM* www.jpost.com/International/Article.aspx?id=246025Man charged with trying to assassinate Obama By REUTERS 11/17/2011 23:16 21-year-old man accused of firing shots at White House, trying to assassinate US president; Ortega-Hernandez appears in Pittsburgh court. Talkbacks (1) A 21-year-old man accused of firing shots at the White House last week was charged on Thursday with trying to assassinate US President Barack Obama, though the president was out of town at the time. Oscar Ortega-Hernandez of Idaho appeared in a Pittsburgh court after his arrest on Wednesday at a hotel near Indiana, Pennsylvania, according to the US Secret Service. RELATED: Police arrest White House shooting suspect No one was hurt in the shooting on Friday night. Obama and wife, Michelle, were not in Washington at the time. The Secret Service said one bullet broke a White House window but was stopped by protective ballistic glass, and the other round struck the exterior of the building. Two cars were seen racing from the scene. One vehicle was found abandoned nearby with a semi-automatic rifle on board, authorities said. Ortega-Hernandez was charged with attempted assassination of the president, Assistant US Attorney James Kitchen said at the court hearing. If convicted, Ortega-Hernandez faces up to life in prison. A magistrate judge in Pittsburgh ordered him detailed pending transfer to Washington. Late Friday evening authorities responded to reports of gunfire south of the White House complex and witnesses reported a dark colored sedan speeding by. Authorities found in the abandoned car a semi-automatic assault rifle with a large scope, as well as three loaded magazines of ammunition and nine spent shell casing, according to court papers. FBI investigators who scoured the White House grounds on Wednesday found several bullet impacts on the south side of the executive mansion on the second story or above. The president's family quarters are on those upper floors. An FBI affidavit said a witness interviewed in Idaho who "knows Ortega-Hernandez well" said he had become increasingly agitated against the government. The witness told authorities that Ortega-Hernandez "wanted to 'hurt' President Obama and referred to him as 'the anti-Christ,'" according to the affidavit. Another witness interviewed in Idaho told authorities that Ortega-Hernandez "was very specific that President Obama was the problem with the government" and that he was "the devil," according to the court papers.

I was just going to post this, Shann0! This nutjob is also claiming to be Jesus Christ! www.cbsnews.com/8301-500202_162-57327426/accused-white-house-shooter-says-hes-jesus/(CBS News) " An Idaho man charged with trying to kill President Obama claims he is the second coming of Jesus Christ. Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez was arraigned Thursday in Pittsburgh. He allegedly fired nine shots at the White House last Friday with an assault rifle. One bullet hit a window in the 2nd floor living quarters. The president wasn't there, and no one was hurt. Ortega's car was found abandoned nearby shortly after the shooting; an assault rifle with a scope and nine spent shell casings were found inside. Ortega-Hernandez has been quoted as calling Mr. Obama the "Antichrist." White House gun suspect obsessed with Obama FBI: Would-be Obama assassin had brass knuckles In a video made at Idaho State University in September, he said this about himself: "It's not just a coincidence that I look like Jesus. I am the modern day Jesus Christ that you all have been waiting for." If convicted of attempted assassination, Ortega-Hernandez could face life in prison. In a 20-minute video posted by CBS Affiliate KBOI, Ortega-Hernandez claims to be the second coming of Christ, and talks about Nostradamus and receiving a "message thorough time." "When I first saw that, there was no doubt in my mind that the message sent through time was solely for me," Ortega-Hernandez said. The student who filmed the video, Ramon Bailey, told KBOI that he randomly met Ortega-Hernandez and was approached by him to film a "commercial." Bailey hesitated, but gave in when the phone calls wouldn't stop. The taping disturbed Bailey so much he never edited it and did not return Ortega-Hernandez's calls. Bailey has been subpoenaed to testify in front of a grand jury at a district court in Washington D.C. on November 22. He reportedly told an acquaintance that President Obama planned to implant computer tracking chips into children. But his mother said he has no history of mental illness." Okey dokey.

Shann0, this gets even better! Seems Mr. Messiah-Wannabe-Ortega-Hernandez lived in an Occupy DC camp: Guy Who Shot at White House Lived in Occupy DC Camp RUSH: It's not just the milling around stage of the Occupy Wall Street day of action. It's the milling around stage while the media tries to find a way to pin the Tea Party on this shooter at the White House. They're trying to find out who this guy is, said he never had any known radical ties. Really? What's he doing at Occupy DC? They're doing everything they can. It was once reported the guy hated Obama but now he just hates government. And they're doing everything they can to try to find a way to pin this guy on the Tea Party RUSH: I mentioned earlier, ladies and gentlemen, desperately trying to figure out who the White House shooter is, who is this guy. They know his name. They know he's from Idaho. They previously stated he hated Obama, now that's been revised to he hates government. So this morning on CNN, American Morning cohost and El Rushbo media stalker Carol Costello spoke with their correspondent, Athena Jones, about alleged White House shooter Oscar Ramiro Ortega Hernandez. And Costello said, "Authorities say that he had a direct interest in the president. This morning the suspected White House shooter is in custody. Oscar Ramiro Ortega Hernandez was arrested yesterday. The gun linked to him was found near the White House along with two bullets on the South Lawn. Any word on his motivation?" JONES: Well, it's interesting. We hope that more of that will come out as well, maybe not today but in the coming days. As you mentioned, authorities have interviewed family and friends and they've determined that Ortega Hernandez had what they're calling a direction of interest toward the president and the White House. It sounds a little awkward, but others simplified it as saying he was obsessed with the president. Hopefully we'll find out more. RUSH: Yeah, and what they're hoping to find out is that he's actually a Tea Partier. That's what they're hoping. That's why they're waiting. That's why they're saying, "We can't find any evidence this guy's ever been involved in radical --" they only found him as part of Occupy DC running around with a weapon, an AK-47. But they can't find out where this guy's come from and what he's all about and what his motivation is. They're just hoping, they're praying, any link whatsoever to the Tea Party they can drum up, and they will stop the presses. In fact, remember what they tried to do with the guy that shot Gabby Giffords. Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, tried all that. They'll try the same thing here with this guy. That's what they're waiting on. www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2011/11/17/guy_who_shot_at_white_house_lived_in_occupy_dc_camp
