Apple Rose Tarts Oct 26, 2014 18:17:30 GMT -5 Quote Select PostDeselect PostLink to PostMemberGive GiftBack to Top Post by PurplePuppy on Oct 26, 2014 18:17:30 GMT -5 Apple Rose Tarts1 cup cake flour1 red apple2 Tbsp sugar1 Tbsp honey3 Tbsp water1/2 stick butterFor apple preparation:o Cut the apple in half, and remove the core.o Slice the apple.o Put apple slices into a saucepan.o Add Sugar, honey and water to pot.o Cook apples for about 3-5 minuteso Remove apples from pot and cool, reserving water.For dough/crust:· Put butter and 3 Tbsp cooked apple water into a bowl.· Sift in 1 cup cake flour.· Mix to make dough. Then, knead dough until it becomes smooth.· Cut the dough in half and roll out each piece (like pie crust).· Cut dough into strips about 1 inch wide by 8-10 inches in length.· On each strip of dough, place 5 or 6 of the cooked apple slices on top. (overlap them by about 1/2)· Then, roll up the dough with apples and put into a cupcake mold.· Put into baking pan and bake for 15-18 minutes in 350 degree oven.· Brush honey on roses and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.Yields about 10 rose tarts
