BREAKING: Ted Kennedy Committed Treason With Soviet Union Against Ronald Reagan
Earlier in the week, a group of Republican senators, 47 of them to be exact, published an informational open letter to the Iranians involved in the current nuclear negotiations with President Barack Obama and his administration.
The letter essentially stated that any nuclear agreement at this point would likely be voided after the next election. In essence, it politely told them not to waste their time or at least be aware of what will take place procedurally if an agreement is reached.
Of course, progressives blew up the social media world, accusing the Republican lawmakers of “treason” and calling them “traitors.” But as The Federalist pointed out, their champion, Ted Kennedy, committed actual treason during Reagan’s time in office, including secret talks with the Soviets that will absolutely blow your mind.
Kennedy reached out to an old friend John Tunney, also a former senator, who happened to be in Moscow at the time. He wanted a message relayed to the Soviet leadership that offered a simple, highly treasonous exchange.
In short, Kennedy asked if the man at the head of the USSR at the time, Yuri Andropov, would help them unseat President Ronald Reagan in the next election and in return, Kennedy would offer Andropov and his team insider baseball on how to deal with the United States at the nuclear bargaining table.
In the deal, the details of which were unearthed in a KGB memorandum discovered by a British journalist in the early 90s, Kennedy had two specific offers.
The first one was that he would visit Moscow. “The main purpose of the meeting, according to the senator, would be to arm Soviet officials with explanations regarding problems of nuclear disarmament so they may be better prepared and more convincing during appearances in the USA,” the memorandum stated.
The second was that Kennedy wanted Andropov to sit down and do interviews on U.S. television networks. “A direct appeal … to the American people will, without a doubt, attract a great deal of attention and interest in the country,” the memo read.
They had even planned on rigging it so that it looked like real journalism, when in fact, behind the scenes, it was simply part of the deal to help take the next election away from Reagan (H/T The Federalist).
Liberals should take note that this a prime example of actual treason and the Obama administration has plenty of scandals that could fall into the same category.
Why do liberals hate America with such passion? Do they not understand that there’s an entire world out there for them to explore if they’re that unhappy here?
Share this on Facebook and Twitter if you’re not surprised that Ted Kennedy was willing to work with the top enemy of the United States at the time in order to help Democrats win an election.
