Is the Church of Rome a Branch of Christianity or Apostate Christianity?

Some evangelicals are calling Roman Catholicism a branch of Christianity which is blatantly misleading and confusing to those who cannot discern truth from error. Roman Catholicism, officially and dogmatically, went apostate at the 16th century Council of Trent when it pronounced over 100 anathemas on Christians who believe in the sufficiency of Christ's perfect and finished work of redemption. The Roman Catholic religion is a counterfeit form of Christianity which offers false apostles as bishops, superfluous priests as wolves in sheep's clothing and idolatrous sacrifices for sin on an altar. It deceives people with another Gospel, suppresses God's truth in unrighteousness, offers a counterfeit Christ in the Eucharist and follows doctrines of demons. It offers a counterfeit Mary as another sinless mediator and a counterfeit miracle of transubstantiation by servants masquerading as servants of righteousness. This ungodly religion is made up of counterfeit Christians who are forced to believe the interpretation of Scripture by unregenerate bishops who are unable to discern the things of God because they must be spiritually appraised. They worship God in vain by following the traditions of men and believe they can purchase God's forgiveness through indulgence.
It is for this reason the Roman Catholic religion represents a huge and neglected mission field in which the true saints of God are called to evangelize.
