Group issues GRAVE warning to ISIS: stay away from New York or…

In the wake of the recent Paris terror attacks, ISIS is enjoying a surge in new declarations of war against them. Most notably, France, of course, joined by Russia. And, as we’ve been reporting, the hacktivist group Anonymous.
But apparently, one group was way ahead of its time in declaring war on ISIS — none other than the New York mafia. As the International Business Times reports, news outlets such as the New York Post and Reuters are reporting on an stern warning the group delivered to ISIS — all the way back in 2012. In the interview from three years ago — long before President Obama even declared ISIS the “J.V. team” — son of infamous mobster John Gambino, Giovanni Gambino, told NBC News the Islamic State was an opportunity to show the world that the Italian mafia could do a better job of protecting New York than the New York City Police Department.
He warned ISIS that if it planned to attack New York, it would have the Mafia to contend with.

The son of a New York mob boss has given Islamic State a stark warning, saying if they are planning any attacks in New York, they will have to contend with the Sicilian mafia. The notorious crime syndicate say they want to do their bit to protect locals.
Giovanni Gambino, the son of a key figure in the Gambino mob organization, says the mafia is in a much better position than security bodies, such as the FBI or Homeland Security, to give New Yorkers the protection they need.
“They often act too late, or fail to see a complete picture of what’s happening due to a lack of ‘human intelligence,’” he said in an interview with NBC News, as cited by Reuters, adding that the mafia’s knowledge of individual movements and interaction with locals gives it the upper hand, even compared to the latest surveillance technologies.
Gambino, who is trying to carve out a career as a Hollywood screenwriter, says that, following the horrendous terror attacks in Paris on November 13, protection is more important than ever.
“The world is dangerous today, but people living in New York neighborhoods with Sicilian connections should feel safe,” he said. “We make sure our friends and families are protected from extremists and terrorists, especially the brutal, psychopathic organization that calls itself the Islamic State,”
Gambino Jr, who was brought up in Torretta, a mountainous area overlooking Palermo, the capital of Sicily, says that Islamic State (formerly ISIS/ISIL) fear the Sicilian mafia, and this has been one of the main reasons why they have not tried to set up any underground cells in Sicily.
The Italian island has not suffered from any terrorist attacks and Gambino feels that the mafia can offer protection in New York to help curb the rise of the Islamist terror group and help people see the mob in a new light.
“The mafia has a bad reputation, but much of that’s undeserved,” says Gambino, who moved to Brooklyn in 1988. “As with everything in life, there are good, bad and ugly parts – the rise of global terrorism gives the mafia a chance to show its good side.”
With ISIS, we’re dealing with a savage group unlike we’ve witnessed in modern times. No, we’re not going to stop their savage rampage by just giving ’em jobs (with a $15 minimum wage, even!), stopping climate change, addressing “inequality” or extending our hand to them, despite what our dear leader may suggest. And, as we’ve suggested here many times, these kind of savages seem to only understand one language — one President Obama seems utterly unable to speak.
That’s why, sadly, leadership against this clear and present global threat is falling to the likes of Vladimir Putin. And many of us find ourselves having greater confidence in the likes of Putin and the Mafia than we do in our own U.S. leadership.
Do not mistake me for a cheerleader for Putin or the Mafia. But we’re living in extreme times. As Col. West always reminds us, if you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck. And here we are in the United States finding ourselves in what I would consider doesn’t even come up to that level of fair fight; we’re practically just handing the fight over to our enemy and welcoming them through our front door.
Somehow, I have a feeling the Mafia doesn’t “play fair” and is a much better match for ISIS than Obama ever could be.
