Homeland Security chairman Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) thinks Obama and Hillary Clinton are responsible for the rise of the Islamic State.
“I would say that she and the president are responsible for ISIS rearing its ugly head,” he said during a Christian Science Monitor breakfast on Wednesday.
McCaul is in a position to know better. The Islamic State—previously ISIS and prior to that al-Qaeda in Iraq—is a creature of the US invasion and occupation of Iraq during the Bush administration. It was supposedly cooked up by the mysterious and largely fictional Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. He was pumped up by an expensive Pentagon PSYOP designed to magnify and subsequently demonize the Iraqi opposition to occupation. ISIS would sprout in late 2006 with the reported death of Zarqawi.
The PSYOP was admitted by Gen. Mark Kimmitt, the US military’s chief spokesman in 2004. Kimmitt said the “Zarqawi PSYOP Program is the most successful information campaign to date.”
The New York Times reported on a dubious letter supposedly written by Zarqawi and intercepted by occupation authorities that stated the best way to defeat the Americans in Iraq was to begin a “sectarian war” in Iraq. ISIS specialized in this particular version of terrorism and it is now used to horrifying effect in Syria by the Islamic State.
Hillary Clinton was a New York senator at the time and Obama a mere nominee for the Senate in Illinois.
If anybody is “responsible for ISIS rearing its ugly head” it is the Pentagon under the leadership of the Bush neocons—not that it matters what handpicked partisan is sitting in the White House: the program, the PSYOPs and the plan for perpetual war for perpetual order out of chaos remains virtually the same.
“I think that they are war with us, but I don’t think this administration is at war with them, and I think that’s the inherent problem,” McCaul said. “We need to be.”
The purpose of the Islamic State—created as a PSYOP in Iraq using the CIA spawned al-Qaeda engineered from remnants of the Mujahideen in Afghanistan—is to keep the United States at war and the bucks rolling into the coffers of the military-industrial complex and surveillance state.
McCaul, the Republicans and no shortage of Democrats are pushing hard—exploiting the supposed ineptitude of Obama—to get the next phase of the forever war rolling.
