VIDEO: ISIS Runs Like Cowards From Peshmerga Fighters… But They Weren’t Fast Enough [Graphic]
As the radical jihadists of the Islamic State group have wreaked havoc throughout Iraq and Syria over the past few years, much of the world has literally stood by and watched.
While the fundamentalist Islamic militants continue to expand and consolidate their self-declared Caliphate, western forces have been reluctant to do more than launch largely ineffective airstrikes and special operations raids against them.
However, there is one group that has opposed the Islamic State group on the ground since Day One, the Kurdish Peshmerga, and they have been hands down the most effective fighting force to confront the radical jihadists.
As the Iraqi Army ran away from the advancing Islamic State group fighters, so the Islamic State group fighters run away from advancing Kurdish fighters.
The following video, posted nearly a year ago by military.com, evidenced the fact that the Islamic State group rarely stands and fights when pressed, but instead flees in retreat.
Filmed during an attack around the northern Iraq town of Makhmourin, Kurdish fighters on the high ground dominating the area laid waste to the occupying Islamic State group militants with automatic fire and rocket-propelled grenades.
Though some of the jihadists attempted to flee the wrath of the approaching Kurds, they couldn’t outrun the machine gun fire that swept the open fields. It was reported that about 60 militants were killed in the attack to retake the Iraqi town.
Sadly, though they have proven themselves to be the bravest and most dedicated and most effective opposition to the savage jihadist army, the Kurdish Peshmerga remains woefully under-equipped and receives little support from the broader global community, largely due to political concerns of neighboring nations.
Hopefully, once a new administration takes the reins here in the U.S. in 2017, a different policy of outright support can be pursued that will equip and back the Kurds in their efforts to push the Islamic State group out of the northern part of Iraq.
