Hi everyone. I just need to say, I am not a fan of Paul Begley. For starters, he calls himself a theologian, a title that needs to be imputed by an institution of higher learning. This along with the fact that he doesn't cite his sources states that he claims himself to be an authority rather than give credit where credit is due. His sensational outbursts and antics like a crucifix flying off his shelf make him out to be just that, a sensationalist. I have a hard time believing in his alleged death threats as well. He doesn't believe in a Pre-tribulation rapture. I'm sorry if I have offended anyone and maybe I'm all wet but I just had to express. This is just my opinion and Like JD says, " Opinions are like armpits, everyone has a couple and sometimes they stink."

I dislike his shouting and yelling, but...he does present some good information.
As for anyone being a theologian, it's their study of Scripture that makes them one...not any degree. Did Jesus' disciples have degrees? Did the early church fathers? I believe there are "amateur" theologians - people who love the Lord and His Word - who are better theologians than many who have doctorates. After all, the definition of "theologian" is simply "one who is an expert in theology."
BTW, Paul Begley has softened his stance; he's no longer a postie, but admits that at this point he's undecided as to when the rapture will be.
Fortunately, God recognizes that everyone is different, and different preaching/teaching styles appeal to different people. Some like the hellfire & damnation shouting; others prefer the softer approach of someone like Charles Stanley...there's a ministry that can appeal to anyone.
Bottom line? If you don't like Paul Begley, you're free to NOT watch him...but the fact is, he's getting people saved through his ministry, and ultimately, in these final days, isn't that the matter of paramount importance?

Thanks for that reminder POH, you're right. It takes all kinds of workers to make up the body of Christ. The harvest is many, and the workers are few.

I'll put my theological understanding up against any "theologian" any day of the week. Jesus didn't pick the most well educated people to be His disciples and the leaders of the church. He picked fishermen. Seriously....it's not about a degreee or an institution. It's about hard work and study IN THE WORD, and guidance from the Holy Ghost. We all have our own ministries that God has called us to.
Now having said all of that....i don't even know who the guy is.

I meant no disrespect to those who are diligent students of the Word. Both my father and I were Bible students and we both went on to become Ordained Ministers. He was a Prison Chaplain and a Senior Elder with a Brethren Church and I went on to be an Assistant Pastor for two different Churches. One of a Baptist Church and the other a Brethren Fellowship. But, my father who was my primary human teacher never referred to himself as a theologian. He always claimed the title of SSG (Sinner Saved by Grace) as his degree and lifted himself no higher than that of a Bible Student. A claim he holds to this day in his mid- seventies. My point being, if others call someone a theologian, then let it be so, but to call oneself such I believe to be unwise. Please forgive me if I have stirred offense. I am merely stating opinion. If I am wrong, please educate me.
