Make Your Own Bath Bomb With Coconut Oil to Reduce Pain
If you love baths, you should love bath bombs too. They are colored, covered in glitter, and smell fantastic. In this article I will tell why you should make your own bath bomb!
Bath bombs were invented by one of the co-founders of cosmetic company Lush, which have been used since the early 1900s to color and perfume your bath water.
It’s come to my attention in recent years that the quality of Lush products has diminished. For the purposes of this article, I checked their bath bombs as well. I like the Sex Bomb as many people do, let’s check out some of their ingredients.
Sodium sesquicarbonate – Sodium come again??
Fragrance – NO, not this word again. This word holds nearly 4,000 chemicals, many of which are known carcinogens.
Propylene Glycol – A toxin used in antifreeze.
Alpha-Is methyl Ionone – Not good for people with sensitive skin, can trigger allergic reactions.
Red 4, 27, and 33 – Let’s not forget our dye friends!
I’ve seen enough!
Create Your Own Sexy Bath Bomb
With just a few simple ingredients, you can make the customized bath bomb of your dreams, and even throw some glitter in there if you want to!
Just gather together these ingredients:
-1 cup baking soda
-1/2 cup Epsom or magnesium salts
-1/2 cup citric acid
-2 tbsp coconut oil
-Essential oils
-Optional natural food coloring such as beet juice (pink!)
-Dome molds or muffin tin molds. Any shape works!
Mix the dry ingredients and wet ingredients separately, and then slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry. I’ve worked with citric acid before and that stuff foams up like nobody’s business, so be careful.
Now that the whole thing is mixed together, you can add in your essential oils if you like.
Lemongrass – Gosh, this smells like candy.
Orange and lemon – Fresh and inspiring!
Lavender and orange – Sweet!
Jasmine – Make your own Sex Bomb with this sensual essential oil!
Lavender – Relaxing time!
Once you’ve mixed all, use a little bit of oil to oil your dome or muffin tin to avoid sticking.

Why Use Bath Bombs?
Epsom and magnesium salts are very beneficial, baking soda helps to alkalize the body, essential oils help to relax and reduce stress, and coconut oil helps moisturize skin. Make your own bath bombs and give them to friends and family. Stop buying conservative bath bombs with weird ingredients.
