His Mom had been killed in a car accident and passed away. He needed a mother’s love and care, but they had no nursing dogs, but they did have a nursing cat?!
The Michigan Humane Society received a call from one of their transfer partners regarding a two-day old puppy who’s Mom had recently been hit by a car and passed away. This tiny little puppy very much needed the love and attention only a Mom could give. But they did not have a nursing dog at the shelter, however, what they did have was a nursing cat!
Someone at the shelter had the idea of putting this lonely little guy with the feline family and see if the Mamma cat would accept him. And accept him she did! A Mamma cat forming this kind of bond with a young puppy is not what many people may expect, but mother nature has a way of surprising us. He needed a Mom, she had love to give and room for one more mouth to feed within her young family, so what was one more?
Some would say a match made in heaven, I certainly think so.
