Eyewitnesses have told of the confusion, panic and terror that erupted on the streets of the Champs-Elysees in Paris last night when an ISIS terrorist opened fire on police. Parisians were forced to cower in restaurants and flee in fear of their lives as Karim Cheurfi, 39, shot dead one policeman and wounded two other officers. The Kalashnikov-wielding gunman, who used the war name 'Abu Yousuf the Belgian', also injured a foreign female tourist when a bullet ricocheted off the police car. Scores of tourists were seen running into side streets, some in tears, as the attack unfolded in the French capital's popular shopping district. 'People were running, bumping into each other and crashing into tables', said a 39-year-old woman who had been dining in a restaurant off the boulevard bustling with visitors. He was shot in the head when the terrorist - identified today as French national Karim Cheurfi, 39 - launched his attack on three police officers at around 9pm last night.
