North Korea is back under the spotlight, and not in a positive way.
As you can all recall, not very long ago our relationship with North Korea really heated up.
And for a while now, it seemed that things had finally started to settle down. Until today.
According to our source Liberty Writers, North Korea has just test-fired a ballistic missile which as the U.S. military reported, landed in the ocean. The missile was launched on early Monday morning at 5:39 a.m. local time, which is still only 4:39 p.m. Sunday eastern time.
The South Korean Joints Chief of Staff released a statement in which he reported that the short-ranged missile was launched from an area close to the Wonsan, Kangwon province and headed towards the Korean Peninsula, the eastern part of it to be more precise and it flew nearly 450 kilometers.
The statement also implied that it is believed that the test missile was a part of the SCUD series. “South Korea and the United States are currently closely analyzing for additional information. Our military is closely monitoring North Korean military and maintaining readiness posture.” the statement continued.
Thankfully, the American Aerospace Defense Command stated the launched missile did not endanger the United States in anyway. A National Security Council spokesman informed us that the U.S. officials have been notified of the test launch and the U.S. president “has been briefed.” Watch the video below for more information!
As the South Korean statement further reports, the President of South Korea, Moon Jae-in, ordered a 7:30 a.m. meeting with the national security council on Monday regarding this situation.
As the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has stated, Japan has instantly organized numerous protests against North Korea’s missiles testing, and so has South Korea. “In order to deter North Korea, we will take concrete action together with the United States,” he stated. “We will maintain high vigilance in coordination with South Korea and the international community and take all possible measures to secure the safety of the people of Japan.” he then continued.
