He lives on Siesta Key, right on the beach, and right in the path of the hurricane. A storm surge of 8-10 feet is expected, and his house is 2 feet above sea level. I learned in an email that he and his family have decided not to evaculate; they're staying at his mother's house.
Please pray for the safety of their entire family, including their 8 beloved chihuahuas, and for protection of his home. And, of course, the other residents of the island.

Charlie and his family (including the chihuahuas) are fine; they stayed at his mom's house. From what I've seen the storm surges weren't as bad as predicted, so hopefully the damage to his home is minimal.
They're without power and he doesn't have a cell phone, so it'll probably be a whlle before we see anny updates from him.
