If you listened to Charlie's prophecy update yesterday, you know what's going on. If not, in a nutshell, they're trying to change the city ordinance so that a bar can open next door to the church. Charlie is concerned that because of the noise it will be difficult if not impossible to continue with Thursday night Bible studies. Apparently the City Council doesn't consider The Superior Word a legitimate church, possibly because it's so small and isn't free-standing. You can get all the specific details in the first few minutes of the 3/18 prophecy update, which is posted here.
Charlie has asked that everyone who enjoys his teaching sends him an email saying thatthey attend The Superior Word church online. It is Charlie's hope that by printing out the emails, the City Council can see this isn't an insignificant church with only a few members, rather, it has a worldwide presence.
Charlie's email is abondservantofchrist@gmail.com
Thanks!

From Pastor Charlie: The commissioners of Sarasota County want to change an ordinance concerning bars next to churches. This will have a giant effect on The Superior Word church. But it's not the teeny congregation who attend in the building that will be affected. This is the attendance of the church over the past 30 days. Tell the commissioners of Sarasota County that they will be voted out, and then follow through with your words. Get rid of any that vote for this terrible law. If you want to listen to these people, click on number 27 and listen for a few minutes - sarasotacounty.granicus.com/MediaPlayer.php?view_id=43&clip_id=4090

Charlie has said he has all the emails he needs - he received literally hundreds! There's no need to send any more, but please keep the situation in prayer.

Good news from Charlie Garrett! He sent me the following:
It looks like maybe the County is going to step back on their plan to allow bars next to us. We had a vote where we could speak this morning. After the vote (an interim one), they voted to make our area an exclusion zone. Restaurants can move in next to us but not bars. This is what we suggested. I hope the final vote remains this way!
