I have a really neat project that's perfect for summer. It's a leaf shaped birdbath! I made some of these last year with my dad, and they turned out beautifully. We made several at once, and gave them as gifts. They are that pretty! If you have plants in your yard with large leaves, they would be perfect for this. I used rhubarb leaves for mine. Here's a link to the instructions. There are photos to help you along. There's even a video demonstration. I'd recommend using a fine concrete mixture with less rocks for the best results. Materials • Large leaf • 1 bag of sand • 2 bags of concrete • Water • Plastic wrap • Tubular concrete form • Paint or concrete dye (optional) • Concrete sealer Tools • Bucket or mixing Tray for concrete • Hoe for mixing • crub brush • Paintbrush • Foam brush • 2 containers for paint and sealer www.gardengatemagazine.com/extras/53birdbath1.phpTry it! It's a lot of fun, especially if you have a concrete mixer. If anyone decides to make this, I'd love to see some photos. Good Luck!

Oh, and one thing I forgot to mention, these instructions are saying to use a concrete tube to make the pedastel to set the birdbath on, but I didn't do that. My dad pointed out that you'd have to pour it in place because it would be too heavy to move. He's right!
I usually just set mine on a pile of rocks, or mounded up earth. Even right on the ground works too.
