Easy Kit Kat Fudge
1 can sweetened condensed milk
50 g/1.8oz/ 1/4 cup butter
2 tbsp corn or golden syrup
290 g/10oz/ 1 1/2 cups chocolate pieces (I used semi sweet chocolate chips)
5 kit kat bars (with four pieces in each bar).
Place sweetened condensed milk , butter and syrup in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium/low heat. This is hard to do without the bottom burning. Stir constantly. I truly believe that this step is not necessary, just heat it up until it is nice and hot. Stir in chocolate until it melts and because incorporated. Stir until smooth, remove from heat.
Actually, I'm not sure why you just can put it all together into a pan and heat it until everything melts, I've done this before.
Place 1/2 of the fudge mixture into the bottom of an 8x8" baking dish that has been lined with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Either way, grease the foil or the paper first.
Top with the kit kat bar pieces, this should take four bars.
Spread remaining half of fudge mixture on top.
Chop up your remaining kit kat bar and sprinkle on top.
Refrigerate until firm, cut into pieces.
This fudge best kept in the fridge as it can be a bit on the soft side at room temperature.
