Ignore the part about climate change - that's the excuse they're giving for God's judgment upon the earth. The Amazon rainforest is crucial to the planet; those trees and plants give off a lot of oxygen. #PrayForAmazonia Goes Viral as Twitter Users Call Attention to 'International Emergency' of Fires Devastating Brazil's Rainforest
"The Amazon rainforest has been burning for three weeks! We are on the verge of losing it completely if the fire isn't put out. The loss of trees, the loss of biodiversity is what is accelerating climate change." byJake Johnson, staff writer A fire burns trees next to grazing land in the Amazon basin in Ze Doca, Brazil. (Photo: Mario Tama/Getty Images) The hashtag #PrayForAmazonia went viral on Tuesday as social media users attempted to draw the world's attention to the Amazon rainforest, which has been devastated for weeks by fires so intense they can be seen from space. According to Euro News, it is unclear whether the fires were caused by agricultural activity or deforestation. Both have accelerated rapidly under Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who made opening the Amazon to corporate exploitation a key plank of his election campaign. Twitter users on Tuesday slammed the media for paying too little attention to the Amazon blazes, particularly given the essential role the rainforest plays in absorbing planet-warming carbon dioxide—a capacity that earned it the nickname "lungs of the world." "The Amazon has been burning for three weeks, and I'm just now finding out because of the lack of media coverage," wrote one observer. "This is one of the most important ecosystems on Earth." Deathwatch for the Amazon
Brazil has the power to save Earth’s greatest forest—or destroy it Aug 1st 2019 Although its cradle is the sparsely wooded savannah, humankind has long looked to forests for food, fuel, timber and sublime inspiration. Still a livelihood for 1.5bn people, forests maintain local and regional ecosystems and, for the other 6.2bn, provide a—fragile and creaking—buffer against climate change. Now droughts, wildfires and other human-induced changes are compounding the damage from chainsaws. In the tropics, which contain half of the world’s forest biomass, tree-cover loss has accelerated by two-thirds since 2015; if it were a country, the shrinkage would make the tropical rainforest the world’s third-biggest carbon-dioxide emitter, after China and America. Nowhere are the stakes higher than in the Amazon basin—and not just because it contains 40% of Earth’s rainforests and harbours 10-15% of the world’s terrestrial species. South America’s natural wonder may be perilously close to the tipping-point beyond which its gradual transformation into something closer to steppe cannot be stopped or reversed, even if people lay down their axes. Brazil’s president, Jair Bolsonaro, is hastening the process—in the name, he claims, of development. The ecological collapse his policies may precipitate would be felt most acutely within his country’s borders, which encircle 80% of the basin—but would go far beyond them, too. It must be averted. These fires are a terrible thing with serious consequences, but don't fall for the lies the Climate Change Crowd are spreading! Scientist Destroys Lie that Amazon Rain Forest Makes ‘20% of World’s Oxygen’
WARNER TODD HUSTON AUGUST 24, 2019 With all the stories in the news that the Amazon rain forest is aflame, many leftists are claiming that the forests “make 20 percent of the world’s oxygen.” But don’t believe it. This claim is a lie. It is absolutely true that large portions of the forests in Brazil are on fire right now. Indeed, Brazil has taken the unheard of step of calling out its military to help fight the fires. On Friday, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro responded to international pressure to do something about the large number of forest fires in his country’s wildest regions. The move is a step in the opposite direction from his initial response which was that the fires were common and not a big deal. Whatever happens in Brazil, the fires were yet another opportunity for the lying left to play on global warming and econazi fears that the planet is being destroyed… so… send them money. Leftists all across social media began to claim that the Amazon creates 20 percent of the world’s oxygen, so if we don’t stop the fires we are in BIG trouble. So… send them money. Lots of tweets at the linkOf course, this is a lie (we will explain below), but the left doesn’t let facts and science get in the way of a good scare tactic… so send them money. Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris led the pack with this “20 percent” lie:
