this is ridiculous! 
The highest heel I'd even consider is 3", although these days I prefer 2" or less. They'll bring you "closer to heaven," alright - you'll break your neck and get there sooner!

Sky’s the limit?
Heels just got a whole lot higher, thanks to Christian Louboutin. The French footwear icon unveiled 8-inch, ballet-inspired silk stilettos — delicately embellished with Swarovski crystals — that would make Victoria Beckham swoon.
Alas, the prized pumps will not be gracing celebrity feet soon, as the shoes are intended for an auction tonight to benefit the English National Ballet, which was recently hit by Arts Council budget cuts. (The auction will also include one-of-a-kind items by leading designers such as Giles Deacon and Moschino.)
“I could not help being inspired by English National Ballet... after all, isn’t the classical dancing ballet slipper the ultimate heel?” Louboutin said, according to The Daily Mail. “The heel which makes dancers closer than any other women to the sky, closer to heaven!”
