OK, based on baydoll's recommendation, I saw this movie at the cheapie theater - I was bored, wanted to get out of the house, and none of the other offerings were appealing or had too much violence and/or sex. It wasn't what I expected. I mean, when you have Seven Dwarfs named things like Grimm, Grub, Butcher, and Wolf, and who work as bandits instead of in a mine, well....this ain't your grandma's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs story! I'm not a Julia Roberts fan, but she was perfectly cast as the queen whose beauty was fading and was desperate to hold onto her youth. Her resentment of the young princess Snow White was true to the original tale, but in this version there were some interesting twists. Definitely some good entertainment to get your mind off the problems of the world for a few hours.

Actually, I believe there's a hidden political/religious message in there....the evil queen who taxes the citizen to pay for her own lusts...the celebrating when she's dethroned...the return of the true King....
