I've been following this for the last couple of days. Over decades, the entire southwest third of the island has become eroded and unstable from volcanic eruptions; with scientists fearing it could break loose and slide into the Atlantic Ocean. If that took place, the slide would be about 500 cubic kilometers of dirt and rock faling into the ocean, which would trigger a Tsunami wave for the entire Atlantic. The volcano is now erupting, and citizens are being evacuated.
Most tsunami warning buoys in the Atlantic ocean are malfunctioning or offline, so we can't depend on them - if you're on the East Coast please keep an eye on the news - NOT the MSM, as by the time they warned people it would be too late to safely escape; there would be mass panic. I'll post what I have here (including some info from the last few days) and will try to keep up-to-date; if anyone else has any info, please share it.

Most Tsunami Warning Buoys OFFLINE or Malfunctioning in Atlantic Ocean
Three of the five Tsunami Warning Buoys protecting the US east coast are OFFLINE and a fourth is malfunctioning, leaving only ONE buoy in the Atlantic Ocean to warn Americans if a tsunami wave is coming at them from the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands. It is that very island which is currently seeing swarms of earthquakes, leading scientists to believe the volcano there will erupt. If it erupts, and the southwestern flank falls into the ocean causing a tsunami as many expect it will, the US east coast will be BLIND-SIDED because 80% of our tsunami warning buoys are not working.
We begin with Warning Buoy 41421, which is Owned and maintained by the U.S. National Data Buoy Center. It is described as a 2.6-meter discus buoy carrying the "DART II payload" which is the set of scientific instruments the device uses to report water and weather conditions. It is located at:
23.373 N 63.902 W (23°22'23" N 63°54'7" W) known as "NORTH ST THOMAS" - 300 Nautical Miles North of St Thomas, Virgin Islands where the ocean water depth is 5844 meters.
This buoy has failed to report any data at all since September 13. Here's what you see when trying to read its data:
Next is Warning Buoy 41420 known as Station 41420 - NORTH SANTO DOMINGO located 328 Nautical Miles NNE of Santo Domingo, DO which is also Owned and maintained by U.S. National Data Buoy Center. It is also described as a 2.6-meter discus buoy with the DART II payload
located at coordinates 23.370 N 67.517 W (23°22'12" N 67°31'0" W) where the water depth is: 5769 m
Trouble is, the Buoy isn't there anymore; it "went adrift on September 5" and is not reporting any data.
Satellite info shows it has drifted somewhere very far away from where it is supposed to be. In fact, it now seems to be somewhere near Brazil. Location reports for it show the following:
YYYY MM DD hh LAT LON
2021 09 17 01 25.4231 -65.8562
2021 09 16 01 25.1692 -65.8260
2021 09 15 01 24.7813 -65.8229

2021 09 10 01 23.8801 -66.3728
2021 09 09 01 23.7731 -66.7341
2021 09 08 01 23.7088 -66.9528
2021 09 07 01 23.6633 -67.1653
We now move onto Buoy 41425 known as Station 41425 - SOUTHWEST BERMUDA - 200 Nautical Miles SSW of Hamilton, Bermuda. Like the others, is shows as being Owned and maintained by the U.S. National Data Buoy Center and is described as a 2.6 meter DART buoy with the DART II payload at coordinates 28.633 N 65.650 W (28°38'0" N 65°39'0" W) where the Water depth is: 5279 m
Just one problem; it, too, has gone adrift. No readings since . . . ready for this . . . . August 24. Oh, and unlike the Buoy above, this one isn't reporting its current location. It's simply . . . gone.
For what it's worth, DART BUOYS cost about $250,000 initially, and about $50,000 a year in maintenance. What are we getting for our money right now? Nothing.
Then, there's the big one. The VERY important buoy; known as Station 44402 (LLNR 5) - SOUTHEAST BLOCK CANYON - 130 NM SE of Fire Island, NY also showing as Owned and maintained by the U.S. National Data Buoy Center, described as a 2.6-meter discus buoy with the DART II payload at coordinates 39.289 N 70.639 W (39°17'19" N 70°38'21" W) where the water depth is: 2656 m
This is the warning buoy that protects New York City. 8.5 Million people. Oh, and this one . . . seems to be malfunctioning . . . sometimes . . . . but often.
For weeks it has been triggering Tsunami Warnings off the coast of New York City. There haven't actually been any Tsunamis, but the buoy is going into EVENT MODE and alerting almost every day.
Like the boy who cried wolf, when the real thing comes, people may just ignore it.
As most readers of this web site already know, there is an earthquake swarm hitting the island of LaPalma in the Canary Islands. The Cumbre Viejo volcano appears to be building up for an eruption and things are going bad there, fast. But this particular volcano has an unstable southwest flank, the size of Manhattan, NYC.
Scientists report that during another eruption, that flank is likely to dislodge and come crashing down into the Atlantic Ocean, causing a mega-tsunami; one which would reach the US east coast, about seven hours later, wiping out major cities.
All that while four out of five of our Atlantic Tsunami Warning Buoys are offline or malfunctioning.
So we get no alert.
8.5 million people, going about their daily lives and then . . . . Surprise!

U.S. East Coast Could be SUBMERGED by Tsunami at Canary Islands Volcano Eruption with Landslide!

U.S. East Coast Could be SUBMERGED by Tsunami at Canary Islands Volcano Eruption with Landslide!
The entire east coast of the United States (and Canada) could find itself literally under water if the ongoing earthquake swarm in the Canary Islands results in a volcanic eruption and predicted massive landslide. A Tsunami of 30 to 50 meters would obliterate much of the east coast, killing millions.
Since September 11, an earthquake swarm exceeding 4,222 earthquakes on the island of La Palma, part of the Canary Islands off the northwest coast of Africa, has been rumbling a large, unstable, section of land, the size of Manhattan, New York City. This slab of land rises 6,000 feet above sea level and is angled sharply downward toward the ocean.
A past volcanic eruption there in 1971 made scientists aware that this slab of land had become terribly unstable, because volcanic vents and tunnels had made their way underneath the land. Scientists predict that a future eruption could dislodge the slab, sending it crashing into the Atlantic Ocean below, and generating a mega-tsunami.
Seven hours after the landslide, the US/Canada east coast would be hit with a large tsunami wave, estimated to be at least 30 meters (about 100 feet) tall.
This wall of water would come barreling in to the east coast, obliterating everything in its path: Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, Norfolk, Charleston, Savannah, Jacksonville, West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, all the Florida Keys, and everything in between those cities along the coast.
The flood map above paints the picture. It's ugly.
Worse, after completely flooding-over most of Florida, the Tsunami would continue on its path of destruction into the Gulf of Mexico. Tallahassee, FL, Mobile, AL, Biloxi, MS, New Orleans, LA would be submerged. The water would likely go all the way to Baton Rouge. In Texas, they might lose Houston and everything along the Gulf coast.
If this earthquake swarm continues - and it is showing no sign of stopping, we could live through the worst natural disaster in recorded history.
People who live in the shaded Tsunami-flood-projected areas above MUST make preparations right now to evacuate on a moments notice. Once the landslide takes place, the Tsunami would arrive along the east coast in about seven hours. But once authorities issue the warnings, highways will be completely jammed, people will be panicking to flee for their lives. Road rage will go Mad Max!
You cannot wait until authorities tell the masses. YOU have to be ready to get out as soon as YOU hear the landslide happened. That means having your car(s) gassed-up and ready to roll, with a "go-bag" of clothes, some food, cash money, and self-protection. You have to have cash money because New York City is the financial capital of the USA and if it gets wiped out, all the banks go with it. There won't be any credit/debit card processing -- anywhere in the country. No cash? No nothing!
YOU also need to know WHERE you will be evacuating to. Make arrangements with friends or family well inland. If you don't have any, find a hotel online NOW, so you know where you're heading once you get going.
That simple planning should give YOU a head start to get out to safety before the masses panic and get themselves killed in traffic jams, or in gasoline lines, or at ATM lines as the water arrives and drowns them all.
Tsunamis are serious business. In 2004, one hit Banda Aceh in Indonesia. Here are before/After pictures . . . it got obliterated. In fact, Indonesia got hit by a 24 meter Tsunami, which is smaller than the one projected from a La Palma, Canary Islands, Volcano with flank collapse! It KILLED 250,000 people. Look at what a 24 meter Tsunami did in 2004:

The island of La Palma is part of the Canary Islands off the northwest coast of Africa.
The island was formed by eruptions from the Cumbre Vieja volcano.
La Palma earned the nickname “the beautiful island” — white sand beaches highlighted by black volcanic soil. An endless night sky filled with stars as far as the eye can see.
But beauty here is only skin deep.
Nestled on the western side of La Palma sits the Cumbre Vieja volcano, like a pot of water waiting to boil over. Its last big eruption was more than 50 years ago, but everyone knows it’s only a matter of time before it unleashes the beast inside.
Over decades, the entire southwest third of the island has become eroded and unstable from volcanic eruptions; with scientists fearing it could break loose and slide into the Atlantic Ocean. If that took place, the slide would be about 500 cubic KILOMOTERS of dirt and rock, plopping into the ocean, which would trigger a Tsunami wave for the entire Atlantic Ocean.
It starts with tremors - exactly like what we're seeing right now. Glasses rattle on kitchen tables while picture frames skew left and right. Tourists to La Palma brush it off, calling the jelly feeling “sea legs” — they are, after all, on an island.
But the locals know better and they hold their breath. When it does happen, the ash and lava spill out of the volcano’s mouth like a giant sigh. No one could have predicted what happens next.
The western side of the volcano cracks and splits; the steam builds up inside and pushes against the volcano’s walls. The pressure is too much; the entire western flank breaks off, the Atlantic Ocean eagerly swallowing every rock, stone and pebble as they freefall into its deep blue depths. The earth rumbles and the water begins to slosh around as its calm ebb and flow turns into frenzied splashing and crashing.
The waves grow. And they grow and they grow. To the naked eye, it looks like the heavens unleashed a curtain made of water — somehow the volcano’s landslide has produced a tsunami that reaches the sky.
All 3,000 feet of water roars as it barrels away from La Palma’s coast toward the United States. As the most western island of the Canary Islands, La Palma sits eight hours away from the eastern U.S. shore by plane. It’s the one piece of good news: Residents have a window of time to evacuate.
But chaos breeds chaos, and soon the highways are clogged with cars, frightened families from Boston to Miami trying to flee inland. A final silver lining: The wave decreases as it sojourns across the Atlantic from a staggering 3,000 to a mere 160 feet.
As that wave travels from Africa to the west, it would move about as fast as a jet airliner, about 500 MPH. About eight hours later, that wave would reach the North American coast line and begin to pile up on top of itself, creating upwards of a ONE HUNDRED TWENTY FOOT TALL wall of water, smashing into the ENTIRE east coast.
All the major cities would be wiped out. Boston, New York, Baltimore, Washington, DC, Norfolk, VA, Charleston, SC, Jacksonville, FL, Miami, would all be inundated by a giant wall of water. Most buildings within ten miles of the coast would be physically knocked down by the wave. Almost nothing would survive. (Story continues beneath Ad)

Now, one might think 'We'll have 8 hours warning." Do you have any idea at all how long it would take to completely evacuate cities like Boston, New York or Miami? And Miami is of particular concern because there may not be anywhere to go for ANYONE IN FLORIDA.
Most of Florida is only about four feet above sea level. The Tsunami 30 Meter (100 feet tall) wave from Las Palma might very well wash over the ENTIRE LANDMASS of the state.
Elevation of Capitol Hill, Washington, DC, USA 79 ft.
In fact, scientists say that the area impacted by any such Tsunami contains twenty-nine percent (29%) of the US population and they estimate 65 Million DEAD.
There are plenty documentaries on tubes about this.
-Worse case says up to 250 miles inland using rivers.
-100' high
-Travel a few hundred miles per hour
-Seven-Eight hours to reach NYC
Long island would go underwater for a time
So would Florida
A few dozen nuclear reactors would be Fukushima, or worse

Ok, Folks, this could be crucial not only for those living in the Eastern portion of our Nation, but for all of us. If this thing occurs the way they are predicting, it will devastate our entire nation. Millions of lives will be lost. The rest of us will be affected you can count on it.
Included in this post is everything that I have on the coming tsunami events. I blended together all the articles, mostly from Hal Turner and The Watchman. They are posted in here as received so the oldest pieces are first and the most recent news is at the end. If you want to start at the bottom and work up, that is fine.
If and/when I receive any updates I will add them to this post or create a new one and link it.
I do want to tell you that I had receive notification that the La Palma Alert had been updated to ORANGE or LEVEL However, the postings related to that have been removed from all outlets. I don’t know why or what that means. I will continue to search for updates and documentation of the Alert Status. Which I will post here.

An unprecedented explosive episode since the beginning of the eruption led the scientific committee to order the evacuation of Tajuya, Tacande de Arriba and Tacande de Abajo for fear that the cone of the volcano would crumble

The eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano on La Palma has entered a new phase this Friday. Three nearby towns are being evacuated after another eruptive mouth has opened on the south flank of the volcano and a new lava tongue has formed, according to the Canary Islands Volcanological Institute.
After the relative calm of recent days, in which the main stream slowed down its advance towards the coast, this Friday the explosive phenomenon intensified , with an increase in the range of pyroclastic material and intense ash emission .
The column of gases from the eruption already reaches a height of six kilometers above sea level and its ashes have forced Iberia, CanaryFly and Binter to suspend their flights from or to La Palma airport .
2.40 MEANWHILE, THE GUATEMALAN VOLCANO CEASES ITS ERUPTION
In Guatemala, the Volcán de Fuego, which left 200 dead in its last eruption and which returned to activity this week, has ceased for the moment, according to several news agencies.
1.17 THIS IS THE EXCLUSION PERIMETER ON LA PALMA
According to what the 112 of the Canary Islands has published on its Twitter account, this is the exclusion zone due to the danger posed by the eruption after the opening of new mouths and the increase in explosions.
The volcano on the Spanish island of La Palma entered a new explosive phase as an eruption intensified Friday into Saturday, according to Reuters.
The Cumbre Vieja volcano first began erupting last Sunday, so about a week ago, spewing thousands of tons of lava, destroyed hundreds of homes, and displaced more than 6,000 people.
But while the news cycle for the volcano simmered down by mid last week – it appears to have regained attention due to La Palma officials warning:
“Volcanic surveillance measurements carried out since the beginning of the eruption recorded the highest-energy activity so far during Friday afternoon.”
Watch the volcano explode in the video below.
There are concerns if this volcano really blows, the entire Eastern seaboard is at risk.
Woah!! Little vent got bigger and it looks like it's collapsing.
Its a matter of time before that cone collapses and the two vents become one. When that happens a lot of dammed up lava is going to start flowing downhill. Lava will seek the path of least resistance, how fast it flows depends on the composition of the lava itself, viscosity and the steepness of the terrain. So far it flows pretty fast near the cone because the terrain is steep, but as it hits flat ground it advances a few meters per hour. Hopefully everyone in possible danger has been relocated. I am wondering who is sending aid to the people that have lost their homes or had to leave and can't return.
La Palma is shaking so badly it's producing Gravity Waves
Hard to believe but the lava flow is even more intense than the outburst earlier this morning. This is getting much worse; I think it will take a miracle for it NOT to collapse. Even if this stops, the mountain has had it.
In the interest of preparedness concerning the cities along the East coast should a Megatsunami actually occur from a LaPalma landslide, where would be some the best places to go to get to high ground in a timely manner.
Here's a compilation of member comments taken from the Cumbre Vieja volcano thread on a secular board I read. I sorted and organized by coastal state information regarding preferential routes, high ground places to go and tips for traveling routes. All coastal states listed. If blank, there were no comments provided for that area.
Hopefully, this list will never be needed.
AL:
In Alabama, considering the coastal areas which lie at a range of around 10-30 feet above sea level and Mobile Bay and delta areas, which are pretty low lying land areas, I’d say if it were possible, try to get to Mt. Cheaha area. It’s about 4-5 hours north of the Gulf Coast area and is around 1200-1500 feet above sea level.
You may not have to drive that far, to get to higher ground, but you’d need to take into consideration all of the rivers in your area and try to get away from those.
If anyone else from Alabama can chime in and give a closer point to get to than Cheaha, that would be great!
I agree with you, it depends on personal tolerance for risk. Dothan has the nuclear power plant, why I didn't include it. Birmingham is plenty safe.
By even the scariest estimates, Mt. Cheaha should be fine. Personally, I think Dothan, or even Atmore, would be far enough inland. I would be heading for Birmingham, elevation about 650 feet.
Pine Mountain near Columbus Ga is 1395 feet. The area is around 922 feet. Or go up 441 to the Appalachians.
Head North and West, maybe to the NW part of the state. Get away from the Mississippi River and the smaller rivers on the Northshore. No one knows how this would affect the Mississippi River, but I have a bad feeling about that.
CT:
DE:
Drive to Lancaster PA or on to Harrisburg if in DE
Those in Lower Slower Delaware will have to drive up the peninsula first.
FL:
NW out of the State. Can cut across the State to the W. Coast very easily and take backroads heading North once gridlock happens. You COULD take 95-N, but it follows the entire Eastern coastline. What if gridlock occurs before you can exit and head West? That’s why my immediate course of action will be to head West first. You need to evacuate the State and assess from somewhere that you KNOW will be safe, like Eastern TN or Western NC. You need to be ready for now panicking aggressive drivers and chaos once it all goes mainstream. 20 million people in this State. Early response and speed of reaction to the Event will save your life. Make sure you are armed, but don’t be paranoid, don’t cause any trouble or start any problems- just stay “switched on” and be on guard. Keep your personal space safe. People turn into animals when they are subject to fear or chaos, oftentimes resorting to violence for any number of reasons. Look to pre-landfall Hurricane behavior for an example…fighting in stores, robberies, thefts, driving recklessly, etc. This is the one time in my life where I will advocate speeding, but not beyond your capabilities to react suddenly. All eyes in the vehicle need to be either on the Road watching for hazards, clearing lanes for you to pass or using a mobile device to run reconnaissance on traffic ahead as well as plotting course while the GPS still works.
FL panhandle, I’m headed 98 west to 77 north to 20 west to 331 north to Montgomery then I 65 north to safety. Probably if I can cross the bridges headed to families in Indiana. I’m 3.3 above sea and 1/2 a mile from the beach. I don’t know if this helps. But definitely my plan
80, 60, 27, 441, 98, 301 Fairly good roads, but not interstate. (Even numbered road, East/West. Odd: N/S)
West coast FL here:
Have a few different ideas in mind...mostly focusing on an evening escape route because I'd be screwed if anything happens during daylight hours.
Was thinking to zigzag backroads up towards Tallahassee, then cut straight N into GA until I hit some hills. Have friends in TN, and family in OH should it get to that point. Car is already packed & ready, just need to jump in & go.
If we have a min. 6 hr. window, max 9 hr., it gives slightly enough leeway to get somewhat north before it hits E FL, and either goes through everything or swings up around into the Gulf, before hitting the far W side of FL.
If it's too short notice the closest I'd get would be to aim NE towards Gainesville, there are a few but not many spots above 100' to hope for at best.
Been studying this topography app along with matching up roads & drive times to see where to zigzag. Stay safe y'all!
GA:
I live in SE GA close to the FL border. My plan is to head NW to Waycross, then toward Macon of needed.
LA/MS:
Head North and West, maybe to the NW part of the state. Get away from the Mississippi River and the smaller rivers on the Northshore. No one knows how this would affect the Mississippi River, but I have a bad feeling about that.
Evacuating south Louisiana has historically proven to be a very difficult task due to stubborn citizens and slow-moving government officials.
Lake Pontchartrain gets surges from hurricane waters, and would most likely be affected by tsunami waters as well.
Jackson, MS, should be safe.
MD:
If on the Chesapeake region in Maryland you need to high tail north west to at least Fredrick, MD.
For Wash, DC - see below
NC:
BEFORE official EBS alerts go off need to hightail it inland via major traffic corridors before they become parking lots. Goal is to get west of I-95.
hurricane evac plans of reversing all major traffic corridors (like I-40, 795 64/264).
Both Carolinas are problematic due to low country, so many waterways emptying out into ocean. Depending on size of wave and amount of water being pushed, NC's OBX will be like front tackle line but then energy of water moves across the big Albemarle Sound and pushes up all rivers, creeks, etc.
Folks inland living on/near waterways need to factor in rising water and the backwash of debris once water reverses proper course to empty back down east.
NH:
NJ:
just take one of the many roads West toward PA.(195-95-PA turnpike route). Aside from NW Jersey where there are mountains, there's really no other option but to haul ass into PA.
In NJ, the safe counties would be Morris and Sussex in the northwest corner. (30 miles west off the GWB)
If you go into PA, stay away from the Delaware River because the water will come up it.
Keep an eye on traffic patterns. If I get the sense that the general population is starting to flee, I'll stop short of approaching the Delaware because getting stuck in a bottleneck (The Delaware Water Gap) there would be very bad.
Note: poster is on this thread if you wish to question this advice further;
NJ here. Bad advice if you are at least 20 miles inland. Stay home with maximum preps, don't end up a refugee in a FEMA camp.
The tsunami size is being greatly exaggerated. Maximum 80 feet but probably 40 is accurate. Penetration 4 to 6 miles, 10 at worst. Most fringe scenario 20 miles.
If you are 20 miles in, the greatest danger is hordes of displaced people. Do not be one of them.
95 Bridge to PA crosses below Trenton. Bad bad move. The Deleware is tidal all the way to Trenton marsh. Floods occur on the PA side usually, NJ is a high bluff mostly. You do not want to be on the roads in PA near there.
If you are really freaking out in S Jersey, look up Arneys Mt. It's really a hill, but over 200 feet.
NY:
There's the Pocono Mts (Seems a good choice with major hwy to get to it. See NJ for further info), Catskills(seems too close to coast) and Adirondacks (seems too far to try to get to)
PA:
Route 611 in eastern Pennsylvania rides the delaware river. Stay out of that area of travel. Easton PA floods often.
Note: the PA turnpike loosely follows the Appalachian Trail. Means one can leave the TP on foot and haul ass. fThe Appalachian Trail does not follow the PA turnpike, not even remotely close. The Appalachian Trail runs NE to SW and the PA turnpike runs E-W. There's only ONE point where the two are close and that's where they intersect.
Appalachian Trail (appalachiantrail.org) which is a very high elevation, but does not follow the turnpike. I know there's a hill just north of Lancaster/Manheim area that is 1,125 feet above sea level. Where as the TP near Manheim is about 500 feet above.
(paturnpike.com)
PA turnpike is low all the way to the west of Harrisburg. Be better to go up 81 either into NY or to 80 to go west in PA.
For Lancaster, the Mt. Gretna area is 1,050ft average. Just North of Manheim going to Lebanon.
MA:
RI:
SC:
TX:
If you are on Galveston Island, cross the causeway, take HWY 6 north, exit is very soon after crossing the bridge. This is to avoid Houston. If word gets out, Houston will be hell. Houston is hell during normal times.

More than 700 residents were today ordered to abandon their homes on La Palma as lava advanced towards their neighbourhood.
Footage shows homes on the Spanish island bursting into flames as a river of molten magma descended from the Cumbre Vieja volcano and struck houses.
Authorities ordered families in La Laguna to leave home with their belongings and pets, according to the Canary Islands Volcanic Emergency Plan (Pevolca).
