A baby girl born during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic had an adorable reaction after seeing a pair of dogs for the first time.
The six-month-old was on a walk with her mum through a suburban street in Melbourne, Victoria when they came across a pair of pooches.
Video shows the tiny tot laughing and smiling as she got closer to the dogs.
The baby's mother revealed it was the first time her daughter had seen a dog as the family has been living in Melbourne throughout the pandemic, which has been in lockdown for more than 200 days.
In a touching encounter the baby girl appears overjoyed to meet the pair despite just returning from her six-month-old inoculations.
'Maybe she's laughing at me,' the dog-walker jokes as the infant bursts into a fit of laughter.
The heartwarming scene highlights the impact the state's harsh and lengthy lockdowns have had on the Victorian community.
Melburnians entered their first lockdown in March last year with August 5 marking the state's sixth wave of stay-at-home restrictions.
Residents are currently only permitted to leave the home for essential reasons including work or study, exercise, grocery shopping or access to healthcare.
Premier Daniel Andrews had even resorted to the extreme measure of shutting down local playgrounds for two weeks.
