The situation in Ukraine is desperate, with predictions of as many as five million refugees fleeing to other countries. Of course, we should all be praying for the innocent civilians who are suffering, but if you're able to help financially, please do so. Even if it's just a few dollars, it all adds up.
I've done some research, and the following seem to be some of the best organization to help the people of Ukraine. Do not, do not, DO NOT donate to UNICEF (or any UN "charity") or the Red Cross!
Samaritan's Purse - They have teams on the ground to help fleeing Ukrainians. Although I don't agree with everything Franklin Graham says (especially when it comes to the vaxx), this charity is well rated and does a lot of good.
Matthew 25 Ministries - They're not well known, but they're a volunteer organization (thus keeping expenses at a minimum) and are shipping aid to Ukraine. I've read nothing but good things about them.
Doctors Without Borders - Obviously, there's a great need for medical assistance. This charity is transparent in its finances, and although it's not a Christian organization, well...if you're severely wounded, your primary consideration is that your doctor is competent!
Save the Children - Teams are working with migrants and asylum seekers in refugee camps in northeastern Romania.
Convoy of Hope - The disaster relief group says it's partnering with a local Polish organization to provide meals to refugees entering Poland, as well as to deliver food, water and other basics across the region. (Make sure you specify your donation is for UKRANIAN RELIEF.)
Unfortunately, times of crisis bring out the best as well as the worst in people. Unscrupulous scammers will pretend to be a charity, or solicit money they claim will be donated to those in need, but they keep it all for themselves. Don't respond to any phone solicitations; stick with legitimate, recognized charities - all of the above check out and the money will go where you want it to. The links will take you right to the donations page.
Once again - even if you can't afford to give even $5, prayer is FREE! 💞
