Lithuania announced tonight the blocking of the railway from Russia towards the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad in the Baltic Sea, which passes through its territory. Lithuanian President Landsbergis explained the move in a natural blockade of Russian goods into the EU territory as part of the sanctions, but Moscow criticized the move and called it "overt hostile activity". Russia has summoned the senior representative of the Lithuanian embassy for a reprimand (the ambassador was removed two months ago). Nearly half a million Russians live in Kaliningrad and Russian military bases operate there, including nuclear weapons.
