SURRENDER: TO THE MAJESTY ON HIGH
THE GOD OF THE BIBLE IS TRANSCENDING, SOVEREIGN, AND ALMIGHTY. There are not enough superlative words or adjectives in the world to fully describe Him. The puny heathen gods like Allah, Baal, or Buddha, etc… are nothing but fallen angels, demons and devils. Our Heavenly Father is both our Creator and Caregiver. He knows every name of every person on the earth. He knows our thoughts and He sees our sins, yet He cares for our soul. I love it that Apostle Paul called Him, “The Majesty on High.” David, the great anointed songster sung of Him, “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness. Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King. God is known in her palaces for a refuge.” (Psalms 48:1-3) Loving and praising God is a primary reason we were created. Satan’s primary purpose in his bent to deceive Adam and Eve was to steal that love they had for the Father.
God’s great wisdom in Creation is powerfully expressed in giving man a will to make choices. No other part of God’s world but angels and man has this divine capacity. It is actually the one great expression of divinity that was transmitted to the human spirit. He made us in His likeness with this single profound ability to say yes or no to our Creator. To think of man as a robot that God has chosen for Him to be a lover of God or a hater of God is cynical, or worse, heathen.
The incredible human spirit can rise right out past the human depravity and declare an irrevocable surrender to the grace of God that can then transform that soul into Son-ship. Oh no, we cannot save ourselves, but we can say yes to the Sacred Sacrifice of Divine Blood that washes the soul as white as snow. The spirit of man is so connected to the Divine world that the Holy Spirit is ever watching for the tender heart that reaches up to it’s Maker.
To stop and humbly consider our Heavenly Father is sheer joy. He has revealed Himself in our Holy Bible in His downward search of us to love Him. As the eighty year old Moses was tending his father-in-law’s sheep, a strange event caught his sight. A bush was burning in the desert, which was not an unusual happening in such a location. It was strange because the bush was not burnt. It was burning as a fire from off the altar of God and Moses was drawn to investigate.
God then revealed Himself and Moses was called to deliver the children of Israel out of Egypt. At this point in revelation, our Father had never given Himself a name for man to call Him. Moses said to God, “And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?” (Exodus 3:13) God’s answer is breathtaking. “And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.” (Exodus 3:14-15) The great “I Am” had revealed His deepest character and glory. How can any person understand just a small whisper of Him and not hurry to fling his heart open wide to love Him and serve Him? All any man or woman needs to do to discover our Father is to open their heart. The rest is His great kingdom of grace. He will convict of sin. He will forgive as the person repents and receives, and then to them He will renew the spirit unto the refreshing of salvation.
