The Goofy Theology of Geoffrey Grider (Now the End Begins)

For those of you who are fans of Now the End Begins, you know that Geoffrey Grider is a member of the King James Only cult. Now, if that's your Bible version of choice there's nothing wrong with that, but keep in mind, those who translated the original Hebrew and Greek texts were only that: TRANSLATORS, and they were not divinely inspired. In fact, the KJV has numerous errors; Charlie Garrett has made a list of them at this link. (There undoubtedly are more.)

Like so many professing Christians who have blogs and/or YouTube channels, Mr. Grider thrives on sensationalism, as can be ascertained by simply looking at the headlines on his site.  As for his "theology," well...here are just a few examples of some of the utter nonsense he teaches:  

Pin the tail on the Antichrist...and twist Scripture while you're at it to prove you're right! 

Does The King James Bible Reveal The Identity Of The Coming End Times Antichrist?

As Christians, we are commanded to wait and look for the Glorious Appearing of the Lord Jesus Christ in the clouds to rapture us up and out of here, and so we do. No where (sic) in Scripture does it command Christians to look for the Antichrist. But God, in His amazing mercy towards us, wants us to have as much information as possible as we battle the world, the flesh and the Devil. We are not ignorant of the Enemy’s devices, and knowing Scripture prepares us for battle. So using Paul’s clues, let’s take a ride through the Bible and see about this son of perdition.



“While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.” John 17:12 (KJV)



No surprise that our search leads us back to John, Paul and John are tag-team prophecy warriors who back each other up, and here we seeing Jesus talking about the son of perdition. It is the same son of perdition that Paul referenced, none other than Judas Iscariot, the Betrayer. But there’s more….



“Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.” John 13:26 (KJV)



Here we have Judas in the act of betrayal, and it is a stunning example of why we only use the King James Bible. Jesus is talking about handing a “sop” to someone, and then dipping it in a dish. Anyone who has ever spent time with Italian people who can cook know exactly what a sop is. My friend Andy’s mom used to make what Italians call “gravy”, or spaghetti sauce, and it would simmer on the stove for hours. When it was close to done, we would take a fresh piece of Italian bread and dip it in the pot, and we would “sop it up”. Delicious! Now do you see what a sop is? It is a piece of bread for dipping in sauce or olive oil. The NIV renders the sop of John 13:26 as “bread”, and in doing so, throws one of the biggest prophecy clues right out the window. Yes, a sop is a piece of bread – BUT – it is much more than that. Bread is just bread , but a sop is a clue.



S = Son | O = Of | P = Perdition. Bam! After 23 years of knowing this and teaching this to people it still sends chills down my spine. God is so good.



Now do you see why we say God has preserved His word in the KJV? But there’s more, we are not done yet.

“That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.” Acts 1:25 (KJV)



When Judas killed himself after the world’s greatest betrayal, he didn’t simply go to Hell, not at all. He went to his own, very special holding area that we see mentioned in Acts 1:25. One reason for this special place is because God is not done with him just yet. In the Time of Jacob’s Trouble, Judas is going to come back as the Antichrist. Why? Because Paul already told you he would in 2 Thessalonians, remember? “and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;“. In fact, lots of people make a reappearance. Moses and Elijah come back as the Two Witnesses, Judas comes back as the Antichrist, and of course, Jesus comes back as Himself. Yay!  (Full article here.)

The title of this article says it all! A careful reading of the Bible (in your favorite translation, whatever it may be) will prove that there's are TWO wars of Gog and Magog, each with a different purpose and end result. In the one described in Ezekiel 38 a coalition of nations comes against Israel "to take a spoil," and 5/6 of them are killed by the hand of God, with the blood running as high as a horse's bridle. In the Gog and Magog war described in Rev. 20, Satan is released for a time, deceives the unbelievers of the Earth, and leads them in a battle to take Jerusalem, God's holy city. This time fire comes down from heaven and consumes the attackers, and Satan is cast into the Lake of Fire, never to be heard from again. A mess like this article is what you get when someone "thinks" he's a Bible scholar, but is actually quite ignorant. (For the record, I graduated seminary with a Master's in Theological Studies.) 

The Battle Of Gog And Magog Cannot Take Place For A Minimum Of A Thousand And Seven Years From Today

According to Bible prophecy, the Battle of Gog and Magog takes places immediately after the Thousand Year Reign of King Jesus is finished on this earth.

Then there's this hot mess. You need to be careful - he's very sly in this article... Yes,there are different promises for the Church and for Israel, but there is only ONE Gospel, that of Jesus Christ and Him crucified for the forgiveness of sin and risen from the dead. The four gospels were written to the Jews; the Church did not exist until Pentecost. Grider is another one who's going to have a lot to answer for come Judgment Day!

Does Geoffrey Grider teach Bible Truth? Yes, he does...but these three articles are only a sampling of his false teachings that are sprinkled throughout his website - there are others. (I can't find it right now, but in one article he asserted that at the rapture the saved believers were going to travel bilions and billons of miles through outer space on horses to get to heaven! 🤣) Keep in mind: 99% of rat poison is wholesome cornmeal; it's the 1% of arsenic that's the killer.  Or as Charles Spurgeon said, "Discernment is not knowing the difference between right and wrong. It is knowing the difference between right and almost right."

It is from Paul that we understand the mystery of the saved believers in the Body of Christ, the mystery of the Church, the mystery of the Pretribulation Rapture, the mystery of Eternal Security, the Judgment Seat of Christ, the mystery of the the future restoration of the Jews in the time of Jacob’s trouble, and the list goes on and on. 

Casual readers of the Bible who, starting in Matthew and ending in Revelation, see one story written for the Church, try desperately to make everything about the Church, and wind up in a mess. Paul commands Christians to look for divisions in the Bible, identify divisions in the Bible, and put the proper pieces in the proper places. These are the instructions God has for us in 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV).


“Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.” Romans 16:25-27 (KJV)



Paul was different from the other apostles, and he preached a different gospel from the other apostles. He called it “my gospel”, and he was charged with teaching it first to the apostles and then to everyone else. Sound like heresy? Don’t panic, it’s Bible. Just a part of the Bible that no one ever told you about before. (At least not until Geoffrey Grider came along!)

What's the takeaway on all this? There are good, sound, well-qualified Bible teachers out there; you'll find the work of many of them right on this board. There are also many good sources for news which give you the truth; again, you'll find many of them here. Sure, Geoffrey Grider's sensationalist headings shout "READ ME!" but I'd suggest that - if you must look at his website - you skip over what he wrote and go directly to the link for the source article which he always includes. As for his "teachings," well...why listen to a Geoffrey Grider when you can listen to someone sound and genuinely knowledgable like Charlie Garrett or Andy Woods or Hal Lindsey or James Kaddis, among many others?

Mr. Grider is a rabid member of the King James Only cult, convinced that it is the only "true" Bible. Of course, that raises the question of, "How do you read this one 'true' Bible if you don't speak English?" Unfortunately, there are many who make an idol of a Bible version, forgetting that those who translated it were only that: translators, who were not divinely inspired. 

One can take any document and have several different people translate it, and each translation will differ slightly. That doesn't mean that one translation is better than the other, it just means that each translator has their own way of speaking or writing. What's important is that the original message remains intact.

Some Truly Amazing ‘Coincidences’ Between King James I And Jesus Christ That Will Increase Your Faith In God’s Preserved Word In The King James Bible

When you look at the amazing facts surrounding the printing of the King James Bible, it becomes clear pretty quick that this is where God has preserved His word.

Let me say from the outset that King James I of England was just a man like any other man, and he needed salvation in Jesus Christ like any other person does. I am doing my best to not make more of him as a person than he ought to be, we are all sinners guilty before a pure and holy God. Amen? Good, with that let me just show you a couple of things that are really quite fascinating where you think about it, and in doing so, I believe your faith in the King James Authorized Version Holy Bible will increase mightily after you hear them.

“Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?” Ecclesiastes 8:4 (KJB)

To start with, King James was a different type of king, he was the king over two kingdoms. As James the VI, he was the king of Scotland, and as James I, he was the king of England. That’s pretty unusual, isn’t it? King James was a dual-king over two separate kingdoms. Jesus Christ is a King, He is the KING OF KINGS, and as such, Jesus is a King over the Kingdom of Heaven, and a King over the Kingdom of God. That’s two Kingdoms, separate and distinct from each other. The Kingdom of Heaven is a literal, visible and physical kingdom, and the Jews will receive it in the Millennium. The Kingdom of God is a spiritual kingdom, and for those of us who are born again, we are in it right now. “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.” Revelation 11:15 (KJB)

Secondly, when God took on a human body and came to this earth to be born of a virgin, that virgin’s name was Mary. Mary is not the ‘mother of God’ as some would erroneously say, for God has no mother, but Mary was indeed the mother of the earthly Jesus in His humanity. King James had a mother, and his mother was also named Mary. As far as coincidences go, that’s a pretty good one. Please note that while both mothers shared the same name, the similarities stop there. The biblical Mary was not a queen, James’ mother was. James was the only son of his mother, Mary in the Bible has 6 other children as we see in Mark 6:3.

“I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.” John 8:37 (KJB)

Jesus said to the people that they sought to kill Him because His word had no place in them, so it was His word that so greatly offended them. Indeed it offends to this day, as it should. The people of King James time sought to kill him also, why? Because when the Catholic Church heard that he had authorized an official translation of the Bible in English, they desperately wanted to stop that from happening. We call this the Gunpowder Plot of 1605. They attempted to assassinate King James over the words of the Book he was preparing to print, because the words in that Book had no place in them, just as the words of Jesus in the first century had no place in the hearts of the men who sought His life.

“Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.” Luke 21:33 (KJB)

Jesus said that His word would never pass away, and would remain forever no matter what else happened. The Bible also tells us that His word would be purified seven times, and after that, preserved for all time, against all opposition of men and angels. With that in mind, take a look at this amazing ‘coincidence’ concerning the King James Bible.

The Aramaic Received Text: 603 – 515 BC

The Hebrew Received Text: 1780 – 400 BC

The Greek Received Text: 35 – 96 AD

The Syriac Received Text: 120 – 180 AD

The Latin Received Text: 140 – 500 AD

The German Received Text: 1520 – 1600 AD

The English Received Text: 1525 – 1611 AD and the King James Bible.

“The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.” Psalm 12:6,7 (KJB)

King James was a king with the numbers VI and I attached to his two kingdoms, six plus one is seven. God preserved His word in seven world languages, ending in English with the King James Bible in 1611. Just coincidentally, there are seven whole notes on the musical scale, seven days of the week, seven years for the time of Jacob’s trouble, seven men of honest report, seven days to bring down the walls at Jericho, Paul wrote to seven churches, John wrote to seven churches, Revelation shows us seven seals, seven trumpets, seven vials, seven angels, and a few hundred more examples besides all these. Very simple truths, and when you apply them to the preservation of the Bible, it shows you some astounding things, like this:

There are 9 fruits of the Spirit, and just coincidentally, 1+6+1+1 equals 9. There are 9 letters in ‘King James’, there are 9 letters in ‘Holy Bible’. 9 times 3 is 27, and 2 plus 7 is 9.

Is it possible to make a better translation of the word of God than the King James Bible? Sure it is, but let me ask you this, why haven’t they done it? Why can’t they do it? The certainly didn’t do it with the NIV, which erases the deity and blood of Jesus Christ. They absolutely didn’t do it with the ESV, which tells you that the wicked prosper, and downgrades Jesus from the Messiah to a generic ‘anointed one’. Lucifer was an anointed one, but certainly not the Messiah. How about The Message, Cepher, or any one of over 250 different attempts? All misses, every single one of them. Why is that, haven’t you ever asked yourself why they can’t do it? As of this writing here in 2022, you have the King James Bible up against over 250 modern translations, all who compare themselves against the King James, with millions in marketing trying in vain to convince you they are ‘more accurate’ and ‘closer to the original languages’ than the King James Bible. Who’s kidding who? Go kid your grandma.

“The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.” Psalm 68:11 (KJB)

In conclusion, let me just say that, in an amazing coincidence, the best-selling book of all time, bar none, is the King James Bible, with nothing in what you could rightly call a ‘second place’. The King James Bible has produced billions and billions of copies, what comes close to that? Nothing. The ‘Harry Potter’ series sold 500 million, that’s not bad, but it took an entire series of books to hit that number. Not only that, the King James Bible has no copyright, anyone can download it and publish a copy. NTEB could print our own King James study bible, and pay no copyright at all because the King James Bible is free to use. Just try printing your own NIV sometime, and your mailbox will be filled with ‘cease and desist’ letters from the Zondervan lawyers faster than you can blink. Why is that? Because the NIV was written by man, and those men want to be paid for the copyright. God doesn’t need your money, and gives us His word at no charge see Isaiah 55:1. Besides all that, I can do something with my King James Bible that you cannot do with your modern version, whichever one it is you use. I can defend my King James Bible as the preserved word of God, and I can prove to you it is free of all error and contradiction. You can’t. Why? Because I have the word of the king, and you don’t.

Mr. Grider claims that the King James Version is the only one that contains no errors. Is that true?  I know no one who loves the Bible and studies it more than Charlie Garrett; for his sermons he references 30 different versions as well as various commentaries.  Let's see what he has to say about that:

Errors in the King James Version

This is a list of translational errors that are found in the King James Version (KJV), a mediocre, even very sloppy, translation of Scripture, certainly not the only inspired translation of Scripture.


I started compiling these after having completed many of my book studies, and so the innumerable errors in their translation for those books are not included for the most part. As for this list, these errors are based on the same source texts used by the KJV translators, so we are dealing apples with apples. For more comments on this rather poor translation, go to the end of this ever-increasingly long list.


The lack of care the translators of the KJV gave to the original manuscripts is often maddening. But what is more maddening is that people, without even checking, blindly believe the lie that the KJV is somehow a perfect rendering of God’s word. It is not. In fact, it is a poor rendering of it.


Before adventuring into the list, here are a few examples of actual translational errors that will help you to understand how bad this translation actually is. Three will be given. The first is from Deuteronomy 8:9 –


A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass.


One cannot “dig brass” out of hills. Brass is an alloy produced by man. One digs copper out of hills. 1 demerit.

The next is from Deuteronomy 33:17 –

The word “unicorns” is decidedly incorrect. First, there are no such things. But even if the old English word speaks of a rhino or something else with one horn, the Hebrew word is singular – “unicorn.” And so, no matter what, the translation is wrong because a unicorn has only one horn. Therefore, this is another of the innumerable errors found in the translation. It is just a ridiculously funny one.

The last is one that forms a contradiction in Scripture between Exodus and Hebrews-

Notice the difference between these three sets of verses from the KJV and the NKJV. To make it simple on you, the error is highlighted. Which version is in error and why? See if you can identify it and explain –

KJV:

According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it. Exodus 25:9

“Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.” Hebrews 8:5

“It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.” Hebrews 9:23

NKJV:

“According to all that I show you, that is, the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furnishings, just so you shall make it.” Exodus 25:9

“who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, ‘See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.’” Hebrews 8:5

“Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.” Hebrews 9:23

Now that you have thought it through, you can see that the KJV botched up its translation of Hebrews 9:23, forming a contradiction in the text. The exact opposite of what the Bible says is what they have said. It the earthly things are COPIES of the heavenly things, which are the pattern.

By translating this as PATTERNS, they have brought error into their translation. You can place the blame for such a botched-up job right where it belongs, meaning with the human translators of God’s infallible word.

When such an error is identified (and you are sure to find many as you progress), be sure to then make a margin note correcting the error (and boy will your KJV be one marked up version). When the Bible transfers to someone else, they won’t have to go through all the pains of checking that you did.

Also, as a fun poke at KJV onlyism, there is a copy of the ORIGINAL PREFACE to the KJV which is still readily available online. It refutes pretty much every one of their arguments. Imagine that. Note: I am sure I have errors in my comments on this page – spelling, punctuation, numerical, and etc. One might point out the irony of me highlighting errors in the KJV while having my own errors, but I am not interested in dotting every t or crossing every i (wait, reverse that). Rather, I am giving information to be considered for those who honestly want to know if this version is what the cult of “King James Onlyism” claims. Even a short study will show it is not.

The Middle East site Al Bawaba reported today that ‘Emmanuel Macron visited Jerash on Wednesday, accompanied by a group of people as they all were listening to Egyptian soprano Farrah el-Dibany, according to a video shared online. Macron came to Jordan from Qatar to participate in the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership. The conference was held in Jordan’s Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. Upon his arrival in Jordan, Crown Prince Hussein welcomed the French president on Tuesday.’ Now what in the actual and literal Hell could Macron be doing there? Oh, you know.

The move to celebrate his birthday in Jerash is fraught with types and symbology of the end times, specifically related to the time of Jacob’s trouble. If you have never read our article on Selah Petra, we highly recommend that you do so as soon as possible. Selah Petra is located in the same exact region as Jerash, in Jordan. In your King James Bible, Jordan is called Edom and Moab, and the Antichrist does a lot of activity in that area according to the prophet Daniel. So what is Emmanuel Macron really doing in Jerash? Getting ready for his ‘coming out’ party.

I'm not going to share the entire article - the ridiculous title pretty much tells you all you need to know about the reliability (or lack thereof) of Geoffrey Grider, who is just another sensationalist and a star-gazer. He cherry-picks random events that have no bearing on the truth but fit his agenda, and are futile attempts to predict the future. This is obvious in one report where Grider says Macron celebrated his birthday on December 21st, 2020, the day the ‘Christmas Star’ could be seen and aligned with Jupiter and Saturn. In another article Grider wrote, "His (Macron's) birthday falls right in the middle of the Roman feast of Saturnalia. And you wonder why we say he just might be the biblical man of sin?" This is the definition of astrology and stargazing.

[12] Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast labored from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail. [13] Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. [14] Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.

Ignoring the blatant warnings in scripture about such practices and beliefs, on April 5th Grider extrapolated why Macron is perceived to always be the center of attention, and then propped up as the man to be an arbiter for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. Grider wrote, “He shows up in the middle of every crisis, is always the first world leader to respond, and he has a closer relationship with Pope Francis than any other elected official anywhere in the world.” If one does actual research as to the veracity of what Grider writes, and studies what the scriptures say about the actual antichrist, it is quite clear Grider has crafted a cunningly devised fable to deceive his readers into thinking Macon is actually the antichrist. He totally ignores the fact that Macron is despised - millions of people currently rioting in the streets of France, and the fact that he recently faced a no-confidence vote, attest to that - whereas for the first half of the Tribulation the antichrist will be adored and even believed to be the Messiah. Of course, since genuine Christians will be raptured before the antichrist is revealed they won't be able to confront Grider with the fact that he was wrong.  Should his scheme fall apart before then he’ll just say it was only a good guess, and will undoubtedly pick someone else to be his candidate for antichrist. 

Geoffrey Grider is on a par with the likes of Steve Fletcher, although the latter is convinced that it's Obama who is the antichrist (supposedly "god" has given him various "confirmations"), but in the end both of them (along with dozens of others) are cut from the same cloth comprised of phonies and deceivers.

What has Emmanuel Macron done to rile up the anger of the French people to such a degree? Oh, not much, just attempting to ram through highly unpopular legislation in his own government without allow the duly-elected representatives of the French people to cast their votes. You might say to me that these latest riots disprove our assertion that Macron could be the biblical man of sin who becomes the Son of Perdition, Antichrist, after the Rapture of the Church. But we would disagree, and here’s why.

Emmanuel Macron, whether he is the coming Antichrist or not, (Grider is in the same class as all false date-setters and antichrist prognosticators, having little back-up plans and excuses in place, just in case their prophecy flops.) is nonetheless imbued from the top of his point (sic) head to the bottom of his sooty feet with a haughty, arrogant spirit that despises the rule of law and the will of the people. He has shown this and proven this time, and time, and time again since his election in to power in 2017. And yet…wait for it…Emmanuel Macron was reelected in a veritable landslide. How can this be?? To quote Kramer from ‘Seinfeld’, “oh it be, man, it be”. There is just Something about Macron that makes Pope Francis fall in love with him, that makes the most powerful ruler in the Middle East, Mohamed bin Zayed, rush to his side. Remember when he stood on the balcony of the White House with his arms around President Trump and casted the sign of Satan over America? Is this the type of "Bible Teacher" and "Minister" we need in the church? Or should Geoffrey Grider be held accountable by someone for his lies and false teachings?  (He'll be held accountable before God. James 3:1 tells us, "My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment." Note, chronologically, James was the first book written in the New Testament, and its subject matter is all about "How To Spot A Fake Christian/Teacher/Prophet.")

A new variant of COVID-19 dubbed ‘Arcturus’ is behind a fresh surge of coronavirus infections in India right now, and it’s found only in your King James Bible

With my eyes still crusty from sleep, I opened my phone to look at the news while coffee was brewing this morning, and I saw a headline that hit me like a ton of bricks. It said ‘NEW COVID VARIANT ‘ARCTURUS’ CAUSING SURGE IN INDIA’, and right away I knew where I had heard that word before. “In astronomy class”, you say? No sir, I reply, it’s in the pages of my King James Bible, and it’s a direct reference to the last days. Oh, and guess what? For ‘some strange reason’, all of the modern versions have removed the word ‘Arcturus’, I wonder why?

“Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons? Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?” Job 38:31-33 (KJB)

Arcturus in your King James Bible is the ‘Big Dipper’ or ‘The Bear’ from high school astronomy class, and the ‘sons of Arcturus’ are the ‘sons of the Bear’ that make up the handle of the ‘Big Dipper’. Have you ever looked in your Bible to see if there is a Bear mentioned anywhere in relation to the end times? Because there sure is. You can start in Revelation 13:1,2 to see the Bear as one of the features of Antichrist, and if you went digging you would find that same theme repeated in Daniel 7:5, Amos 5:19, and Proverbs 28:15 just to name a few. But if you have an NIV, ESV, RSV, ASV, NKJV or the Legacy Standard Bible you have no idea what I’m talking about because the references have been removed. (My comments on his totally irrelevant Scripture references are near the bottom of my commentary.)

Never, ever in over 30 years of studying eschatology, which included several years in seminary working towards a Master's degree in Bible studies, have I ever seen that verse associated with the Antichrist. Then again, I'm always open to learning something new, so, being a good Berean, I did some research. 

Talk about twisting Scripture! In the above verse, according to Strong's Concordance  Mazzaroth is defined as "the 12 signs of the zodiac and their 36 associated constellations," and Arcturus is defined as "a constellation: Great Bear, Ursa Major." I then went to all the Bible translations Grider mentioned in his article, as well as a few others, and in each and every case found that NOTHING had been removed; they simply replaced the archaic name "Arcturus" with "the Great Bear," which is what people today call that particular constellation. The word Arcturus is mentioned one other time in the Bible, also in Job (9:9) and again only in the KJV: "Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south." Once again, it simply refers to...the names of constellations! 

Since I love to do research, I then checked a few good, sound commentaries to see if any of them made any connection whatsoever with the Antichrist that I might have missed. Here's what they had to say about that verse:

From Matthew Henry:

"It is not in our power to order the motions of the stars, nor are we entrusted with the guidance of them. God, who calls the stars by their names (Ps. 147:4), calls them forth in their respective seasons, appointing them the time of their rising and setting. But this is not our province; we cannot bring forth Mazzaroth-the stars in the southern signs, nor guide Arcturus-those in the northern, v. 32. God can bring forth the stars to battle (as he did when in their courses they fought against Sisera) and guide them in the attacks they are ordered to make; but man cannot do so." (No mention of, or connection to, the Antichrist.)

From Jamieson, Fausset & Brown:

"32. Canst thou bring forth from their places or houses (Mazzaloth, 2Ki 23:5, Margin; to which Mazzaroth here is equivalent) into the sky the signs of the Zodiac at their respective seasons--the twelve lodgings in which the sun successively stays, or appears, in the sky?
Arcturus--Ursa Major.

his sons?--the three stars in his tail. Canst thou make them appear in the sky? ( Job 9:9 ). The great and less Bear are called by the Arabs "Daughters of the Bier," the quadrangle being the bier, the three others the mourners.

33. ordinances--which regulate the alternations of seasons, &c. ( Gen 8:22 ).

dominion--controlling influence of the heavenly bodies, the sun, moon, &c., on the earth (on the tides, weather) ( Gen 1:16 Psa 136:7-9 )." (Again, no mention of, or connection to, the Antichrist.)

From Chuck Smith:

"The Pleiades is a constellation that is most commonly mistaken by amateur stargazers as the Little Dipper. It is a winter constellation and it comes up just about in the middle of the winter skies. And it's a little cluster of stars that does look something like a dipper, but it is the Pleiades or the Seven Sisters. Now the North Star is actually a part of Little Dipper and the Big Dipper. Of course, the pointer stars always point to the North Star, but it takes a good clear night in the mountains or out in the desert to actually see the Little Dipper, so it is accepted for people to make the mistake and to point at the Pleiades as the Little Dipper, but don't you make that mistake. In the winter constellations, then, of course, you get up early in the morning now and you can see the Pleiades is starting to come up early in the morning as we're moving into the fall equinox. But it is a part of the winter constellations, comes up in the center of the sky, small little cluster, Seven Sisters, the Pleiades.

Now, God said, "Can you bind the sweet influence of the Pleiades?" Astronomers now believe that the Pleiades actually is the center of the gravitational forces in our Milky Way Galaxy. Pretty well accepted now that it is the center of the gravity and the gravitational forces within the Milky Way Galaxy. Here God is telling Job, "Can you bind the sweet influence of the Pleiades?" Hinting actually, to what the astronomers have discovered, that this actually is the center of the gravitational forces in the Milky Way Galaxy.

Then God said, "How about, Job, how would you like the job of guiding Arcturus?" Arcturus is known as the runaway star. Now how did Job know this? It travels at about 125,000 miles per second. Now God said to Job, "How would you like the job of steering that thing through the sky?" Get this steering wheel and this large mass. Arcturus is larger than our sun, guiding that thing at 125,000 miles a second through the sky, dodging these stars and so forth so you don't have a major collision in our universe here. No thanks. You go ahead, God, and You keep Your hand on it." (Surprise! Again, there is no mention of, or connection to, the Antichrist.)

Just because the word "bear" is used in some Scriptures in any context, that doesn't mean it refers to the Antichrist. Let's take a closer look at Grider's "Antichrist references":

Rev. 13:1-2: “Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns,[fn] and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority."

In Revelation, the term beast refers to two related entities. Sometimes “the beast” refers to the end-times’ empire. The seven heads and ten horns indicate that the beast will be a coalition of nations that rises to power to subdue the earth under Satan’s control. Later references to “the beast” in Revelation picture an individual—the man who is the political leader and head of the beastly empire - but not this one. Count this a FAIL for Grider.

Daniel 7:5:  “And suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear. It was raised up on one side, and had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. And they said thus to it: ‘Arise, devour much flesh!'"

This second beast in Daniel's night vision is bear-like, not specifically a bear. The precise meaning of the symbol of the raised side is someone elusive, but the three ribs which the beast savagely devours most likely refer to the three kingdoms that comprised the Medo-Persian empire when it assimilated Babylon. Hmm...I don't see the Antichrist here...

Amos 5:19: It will be as though a man fled from a lion, And a bear met him!
Or as though he went into the house, Leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him!

Well, this Scripture does speak of the day of the Lord, but Amos is simply using a word picture to describe how there will be no escaping the tribulations and trials of that time for the wicked. Although they were longing for the day of the Lord, because of their  sinful lives the day of the Lord wouldn't be glorious for the wicked ones who love evil as it would be for those who are servants of the Lord. Rather, for them it would be the day of judgment and of darkness. 

Chuck Smith sums up this passage as, "I mean, you can't escape it. Just when you think that you've escaped, whammo, you get wiped out!" 

Nope. Don't specifically see the Antichrist here either...

Proverbs 28:15: Like a roaring lion and a charging bear Is a wicked ruler over poor people.

With these vivid images, Solomon described the effect of a wicked ruler over poor people. The wicked ruler treats those of low standing (poor people) with unpredictable, uncontrollable ferocity. He is dangerous toward them. “Because tyrants are like this, animal imagery  is used in Daniel 7:1-8 for the series of ruthless world rulers. The poor crumple under such tyrants because they cannot meet their demands.” (Ross) This proverb is a general statement of wisdom/fact which applies to all corrupt rulers through the ages. Admittedly, the Antichrist will be the worst of all of them, but no...this Scripture isn't specifically about him. Sorry, Geoffrey - close, but no cigar. You're proven absolutely nothing, except that your eisegesis is execrable and your hermeneutics horrific! 

What a deceiver that Grider is! Yet, rather than be good Bereans and check to see if what he says is true, his ignorant followers will hang onto his every word and defend him right up to the gates of hell. Sad, isn't it?   

So, what can we infer from the information I've presented you with? Geoffrey Grider is a liar, a phony, and a fraud  - a false teacher who thrives on sensationalism. Nothing is "hidden" by replacing the word Arcturus with the Great Bear; newer versions simply updated the language. He's no better at "acting" as a Bible teacher than he was as a third-rate movie actor, and he's certainly not to be trusted. As the commentator in the above video said, "Now the End Begins is all about Geoffrey Grider."

My advice? Stay away from Mr. Grider and Now The End Begins - there are far, far better sites for actual news and good, sound, genuine Christian commentary. In fact, you're reading one right now!

Here he goes again! A verger - someone who helps to maintain a church - was seen passing a door at King Charles coronation, and of course Grider sees mystical, prophetic meaning in it. When you come right down to it, he's no better than Steve Fletcher, blue heaven (Good Grief), or any of the other wacko false teachers out there!

The coronation of King Charles III in London last Saturday drew worldwide attention, with millions staying glued in front of the TV screen during the hours-long ceremonies, when the ‘Grim Reaper’ suddenly appeared

You knew that the coronation of King Charles III was not going to happen without multiple evidences of his New Age and pagan leanings, and when all was said and done, that’s exactly what happened. The most shocking thing that has people talking was the sudden appearance of the ‘Grim Reaper’ walking hurriedly across the entrance to Westminster Abbey as the coronation ceremony was underway. So who was it, why were he or she there, and what does it mean?



“These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.” Revelation 17:14 (KJB)



Let me just say, here at the outset of the reign of King Charles III, that we are expecting big things from him, big things in relation to the rapidly-escalating end times we find ourselves in right now. King Charles III is able to trace his ancestry directly back to Vlad the Impaler, otherwise known as Dracula, and is a fan and follower of many things pagan and New Age. Not only that, he is 100% in favor of giving trillions of dollars to a military movement of Climate Change, all led by unnamed individual the Bible refers to as Antichrist. Yes sir, the reign of King Charles III, short-lived though it may be, is filled to the brim with prophetic potential.

In a video that was uploaded to Twitter and subsequently went viral, a figure clad in dark robes and a black hood and holding a staff can be seen hurrying swiftly across the entrance to Westminster Abbey during the ceremonies.



Naturally, this led to wild online speculations about the identity of the mysterious figure, ranging from people making allusions to the Harry Potter movies, to quips about Megan Markle having possibly found a way to attend the ceremony after all.

Other comments gave the discussion a darker turn. “Anyone else just notice the Grim Reaper at Westminster Abbey?” one of the persons who had uploaded the short clip asked. Another commenter posted a picture of an explanation about witch rituals, which include the use of black robes similar to the one worn by the mysterious figure and others agreed that this must have been a witch. (Grow up, Geoffrey! Stick with the Bible and stop reading hidden meaning into everything!) 

Before the coronation ceremony, a coven of witches and pagans had announced that they would accompany the festivities with a ritual of their own, during which they would cast spells for good weather during the coronation and health for the new monarch, The Sun reported.



Another angle of speculation led to discussions about the new king’s connections to the Free Masons. “The British Monarch has a long-time connection to Scottish Freemasonry,” one Twitter user alleged. He went on to say that “The Rectified Scottish Rite of Masons uses a black hooded robe in some ceremonies. Their headquarters happens to be in Mark Masons Hall opposite St James Palace where Charles was affirmed as Monarch last year.”



Another commenter chose to take the matter more lightly and joked “Britain without Freemasonry is like ham without eggs so what can you expect?”



The Green Man


These wild allegations continue the discussions about paganism and occult symbolism surrounding the long-awaited coronation of Charles III. One of the main bones of contention was the official invitation to the coronation ceremony, which included a depiction of the ‘Green Man’ at the bottom of the card.

The Green Man is an old English motif that appears on the ceilings of medieval churches or is often carved on garden paving stones but is also thought to have pagan connotations. British MP Zac Goldsmith responded to the allegations about pagan connections by stating: “It is a symbol, among other things, of our relationship with the natural world (or in Christian terms, God’s creation). This is beautiful.”

I don't know how I came across this article about Geoffrey Grider - I certainly wasn't looking for it - but here it is. I'm going to just leave the link to it below as it's a long article, and you can prayerfully come to your own conclusions about him. 

At one time when someone would tell me they're a Christian I was quick to believe and accept them and was overjoyed to meet a new brother or sister, but bitter experience has taught me to be cautious. In fact, the ugliest, most hateful, most dishonest, abusive, nasty people whom I've ever come across have almost all claimed to be "Christian."  We're in the Last Days, and sadly, most professing Christians are anything but. No surprise, I guess - Jesus warned us about deception in the Last Days four times as much as anything else. Satan is busy deceiving as many people as he can and turning them against Christianity before his time is up, and as you can tell from this forum, he's been hugely successful. For our own safety and peace of mind, we need to learn to inspect someone's fruit and not be too quick to accept them until they've proven themselves worthy of our trust. Be kind to them, yes; pray for them, certainly, if you feel so led...but be cautious. I speak as someone who has been slandered and vilified; had many, many thousands of dollars stolen from me; been outright lied to; I even became homeless for a time thanks to some "Christians." 

I'm not condemning Mr. Grider because he's a sinner - we're all sinners - but because he continues to engage in behavior that he knows is wrong. He's conning trusting people out of their hard-earned money to enrich himself. He admits he has a problem with lust, and has tried to go after many women, some married - and has been excommunicated from several churches because of that. Where he's genuinely saved or not is something only God can answer, but at the very least this man is not qualified to be in ministry. I certainly would strongly advise you not to send him any money for any reason (including to supposedly send Bibles to prisoners) - trust is something that has to be earned, and from what I've read, well...I don't trust him one bit.
